Some forward notes......

  • lots of smoke out of Portugal that Arsenal sent scouts to watch Gyokeres. Those same sources are also saying that he may not be available below his release clause (100m euro). Current rumored numbers are 60-70m.
  • market for Nelson appears to be drying up. 2 primary links are Leicester & West Ham. Leicester has supposedly backed off because of his wage demands and West Ham just signed Summerville from Leeds.

Supposedly OM has been trying to rush this deal. They are concerned that the longer it drags the more likely an EPL club offers more than they can afford. Think Edu is using that to his advantage to squeeze as much as possible out of them.

Seeing lots of claims that OM are backing away from Eddie. Also that the 27m offer never happened. French sources are claiming that they have submitted 2 offers of 17m & 22m that have both been rejected.

Not what you'd expect from someone in danger of being imminently sold. I think this reinforces the idea that if we sell a defender this summer, it's most likely to be Kiwior.

I doubt we blinked. OM just found out that Wahi was going to cost them 30 million as well, so they weren't able to play the 2 clubs against one another as they obviously had hoped.

I'm betting Wahi will be more than 30. Lens paid 30 last summer. Unless they are unhappy with him what would be the incentive to sell at a break even a year later?
