This team can't get out of its own way
Well that's disgusting
Feels like this team is destined to not win another title. Couldn't hold on against a juggernaut the last 2 years. Now this year we're losing everyone to injuries and making stupid mistakes on top of it

Can't help but feel this isn't gonna be the year. The injury load right now is just too much. No Odegaard for 3 months. Both FB positions are continuously being decimated by injury. Saka hurt (still hasn't practiced). Can't go more than 2 matches without getting a red card (deserved or not). Making way too many simple mistakes that lead to goals. Can't finish worth a damn. Just a very frustrating start to the year and we cannot afford to drop many more points.

Agreed. It's been a weird year. Now that being said, we're still in the race with all of that happening and we should be getting healthy soon and hopefully we can build some momentum. We've won every EPL match that we've had 11 players for, so that is a good sign.wangus12 said:

I think it depends on the situation. If he's been cleared to play and has started to practice with us again AND Norway agrees to limit his minutes to like15-30 minutes a match to help build his fitness, I'm okay. If it is just to train and not play, he needs to stay here. If the Norway coach is gonna try and force Odegaard into playing a lot to help save his job/help Norway qualify, then no.

I get where you are coming from but I'm not 100% on board. My thought is.....
a) this call up would be for an effectively meaningless game
b) I get the draw of playing for country but reality is that MO is likely to never play in a WC. He plays for a country that lacks high end talent across the pitch.
While I wouldn't discourage him from playing in qualifiers or major tournaments he is coming off a major injury picked up in a meaningless game for country. He would be putting his career at risk for a meaningless game.

I get where you are coming from but at one point (pre MO) Partey was our best player. What has happened to him playing meaningless games for Ghana? What has happened to Tomi? I don't want to see MO go but sometimes you have to be ruthless and if he is making poor career decisions maybe this is one of those times.
Yeah but to be fair, there isn't a top level professional player out (except Ben White) who turns down national team call ups. They all do it. Saka, Rodri, Messi, Ronaldo, Salah, and the list goes on and on.
I agree with you that he shouldn't be playing a game for Norway with where he'd be in recovery and how badly Arsenal need him healthy. If he needs minutes, we can get him some with a behind closed doors friendly or with the U23s. But at the same time, 99% of pros are taking international calls if they are cleared to play.

I'm not saying he should reject Norway going forward. I'm saying that if he doesn't have the sense to reject the callup this time.....
Odegaard is Norway's captain. Norway's underachieved for 20 years and while I think Nations League isn't a big deal, they are in the driver's seat to win their group and get promoted to the top level for the next cycle, which is expected to be tied into Euro 2028 qualifying. Making Euro 2028 would help cement Odegaard as a Norway legend.
I'm not saying it is not convoluted, or that these are "big" games coming in up in November, but I am saying I think you'll have a hard time convincing Odegaard that these games are completely meaningless. I think there's a lot of desire on Odegaard's part and lots of pressure within Norway for the National Team to get its act together.
