They lost him. He just had a 30 goal season across all comps.
He had 14 more league goals than anyone else and twice as many assists as the next guy. He was their whole offense

Nelson has apparently agreed to join West Ham and now the bargaining begins. Sounds like Arsenal want 15-20m for him which would be really good business in my mind

I agree. Hopefully just trying to drive up the price. That said, I'm fine with ESR staying because that is quality depth. But Arteta needs to actually play him if that's the case

I've always loved ESR and he almost single-handedly saved Arteta's career several years ago, but I think you sell him if you get 32-35M.
I don't know if he really has a "position" at this point. Left 8 or Left Wing? We have several options at both positions that Arteta prefers. And it looks like we're likely to bring in more this summer. I think ESR's problem was he didn't to the things off the ball that Arteta wants, and he's just always injured. Love him but you have to sell good players and add better/the right players if you want to be elite.

I'm excited about Califiori, I think he's a great player with a unique skill set.
Everybody is thinking LB for him but I wouldn't be surprised to see Arteta use him to replace Gabriel. We all love Gabriel and he's a great player but Arteta can be ruthless (see Ramsdale). Gabi started on the bench last season because he was entertaining a move to a Saudi club late in the window.

technically doesn't hold up the deal but still crazy. Roma sells to Basel with a sell-on. Basel sells to Bologna (and pays off Roma) and includes a sell-on. Now Bologna selling to us (supposedly including a sell-on) and Roma deciding that they are owed from Basel because are getting some deferred payment.
