Rules on the portal (Courtesy ESPN)
Starting in 2022 the Division I Council approved transfer window dates for when players can enter the portal. Instead of being able to leave a school at any time, players now have to enter the portal within set dates. The first window opens the day after the championship teams are selected, which will be Dec. 5, and closes 45 days later on Jan. 18, 2023. There is also a 15-day spring period from May 1-15.

However, the windows are meant for players to enter their names into the portal, which is different from actually transferring. Once their name is in the portal, they can transfer whenever they want as long as they are able to gain admissions and meet academic requirement dates.

As much as I have decried the OL play and called for Addazio to be ousted I've concluded we should give him one more year. Our last two OL coaches seemed to suck their first year and went on to produce good units in subsequent years. I'm afraid if he's cut lose we'll be back to square one in that process.

Yep. Sylla, Overton, and Enai White have all rolled down to LB and Ish still never played a snap.

Gotta disagree. Addazio was SO bad that I don't think we can risk being wrong.

Square one with anyone else isn't likely to be as bad as what we saw this year.

I understand the sentiment of your post, but there is also something to say about having 4 and 5 yr Jr/Sr's on your team. I think a big part of the problem with our season was that we didn't have upperclassmen to lead and show the young talent what it takes to win games. We just can't perpetually have a "young talented" team.

Probably not a great example here, but when Tyree Wilson left after his freshman year, we all probably said it didn't matter because he didn't contribute. He's now a Sr LB that will likely be drafted. Would we have benefited from having him on our defense this year? My thoughts are yes…

I wish the best to everyone that leaves, but we also need to develop a culture of developing players and keeping them in the system.

My nephew played football at a Big 12 school and he informed me at Thanksgiving that his buddy, a Fr LB at that same school, is planning on transferring to A&M. This kid had a breakout year this year. Solid get if it comes to fruition

This is absolutely not a "..saw Ferris at 31 flavors last night" situation but roast away for me not naming names
