I walk A LOT, I ride my mountain bike on the street. I have an Indoor rower and I have started putting pieces together slowly for a CrossFit box in my garage. I try to drink five 30 oz of water or more a day. ...and Intermittent Fasting.dmart90 said:

I want to try this for July. I mentioned it to the wifey and she snarled at me like Cujo. I took it as that's a No to doing it together.bthotugigem05 said:SpreadsheetAg said:

Whole 30 is really good. One of the better plans to follow and I notice almost nothing different about it when we eat W30 meals. I would buy the cookbook and just try it.Gilligan said:I want to try this for July. I mentioned it to the wifey and she snarled at me like Cujo. I need to figure out what I can eat...

So I am just browsing the Whole 30 website and found this recipe. As an example we make this recipe a couple of times a month. Looks like a minor tweak and my recipe will pass. My question is do I need to use the coconut oil and aminos?
Some of the portions are different, but that shouldn't matter.
Ingredients: Whole 30 Version
- 1/2 head green cabbage
- 1 onion
- 5 cloves garlic
- 1 inch fresh ginger
- 4 green onions
- 2 tbsp. coconut oil < ?
- 1 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1/2 c coconut aminos < ?
- 2 tbsp. sesame oil
- coarse sea salt, to taste
Ingredients: My RecipeAm I on the right path here? I can eat eggs so I should be good.
- 1 pound ground pork sausage
- 6 cups coleslaw mix or shredded cabbage
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger minced
1 tablespoon soy sauce- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- coarse sea salt, to taste

My beef with W30 is it puts so much focus on what you can't eat. It worked for me but it's certainly not for everyone. My relationship didn't survive it.

Was dating, yep. That wasn't the sole cause, but it stressed us both out because it was really freaking hard to go out for a nice dinner and all that.
Shoot bthotugigem05, you'll be picking from a much nicer crop pretty soon with all the progress you have made!Gilligan said:bthotugigem05 said:

Dude! You're 70+ lbs down. Feeling and looking good.
It was time for you to pull down some new strange anyway.
There's always a silver lining if you look.

I've hit 228 this January -- last year I was in the same range, but I believe I was lower bodyfat.
Goal: 200; drop 20 minutes from my half marathon time to 1:55.
It's going to be tough the first half of the year -- but might get easier in the 2nd half with a more normal routine.
I figure why not one more regular reminder?
Cut the booze and it'll make a huge difference. I haven't had a drop since January and it's been fantastic honestly.Gabster43213 said:
I started 9 days ago at 234.4. Am now at 226.8.
Hoping to get to 222 by the end of this month and 215 by the end of July.
Primary reason for weight gain of 20 pounds over the past 4 months resulted from a significant increase in adult beverage consumption due to job loss in February.
Any thoughts or recommendations are appreciated.
Your weight is going to fluctuate and 3/4 lbs a day loss requires a daily calorie deficit of 2625.Gabster43213 said:
I'm sure cutting out the beverages will help....at least I hope so. Quitting cold turkey is tough! I was also drinking 2-3 cans of sprite a day to complement the booze.
Dropped another .8 to an even 226 this morning. My question to forum members....if I stick with the changes, what is the likelihood that I could continue weight loss at an average of .75 pounds per day over the next 30 days. Its been 4-5 years since I have been at that weight level.
wouldn't we all!Gabster43213 said:
Did a little research and my "beverage" intake has been 1,000 calories per day.
I would be very happy with a 2-3 lb a week weight loss.
