Oh, yeah, I'm thinking about the suburban. Nevermind. Yeah, I think the truck was slower, like 8.5 or something. Depends on the ass end, too. They probably ran it with a 3.73.

Never had my pile officially timed, of course. I was going off memory of looking it up probably 10 years ago...

Point isn't that my truck is fast. It is that those other trucks were slooooowww too, like mine, only not quite as bad, being half-tons.

Enough of you guiz poast wh0rin. My truck moved under its own power this evening, reverse takes probably 5 seconds to engage but it has always been like that lol. I doubt that I'm going to hook my park/neutral ground wire unless I somehow find out which wire to tap into.

I have not the slightest clue on how I'm supposed to rig up my f body belt tensioner with the AC bracket so I'll have to figure out that mystery.

It's not looking like I'm going to have it done before school starts back up

I work this weekend back in Galveston and the truck is in Baytown. So I have tomorrow and Monday to work on it. Hopefully the schedule hasn't been made too far so I can get next weekend off.

There's only two people working downstairs at my job (golf course), the outside manager and me. So me taking time off can be a pain in the arse, since the other guy downstairs can't go over 40 hours a week

Well I figured out where to mount the tensioner yesterday but I need to use a spacer between the water pump and the tensioner and I'm not sure if the guy sent that spacer along with the bracket or if I'm using the spacer and it's just in the wrong spot.

I also finally got my battery tray and mounted it

Yep I have pictures of 5.3's in c/k 1500's but since I have a tensioner off a f body and the truck accessories stick out further I can't simply put the tensioner directly on the block. I could show you a pic of what I'm talking about if I wasn't on my phone.

Well I just fabbed up a bracket for the emissions canister and hooked up the new sparkplug wire...runs much smoother now!

Next task is to make a spacer for the belt tensioner.

Yep sure am, it's one of the next steps I dread most because the harness that Nelson sent isn't 100%. They said since I'll most likely have to splice on more wire for it to fit that they would just send all the harness all put together minus putting all the connections on

Haven't done much today...so far I've just spent money. Went to Lowe's and picked up a few bolts then drove around looking around for non Bosch o2 sensors that aren't overpriced. Ended up getting on Amazon and ordered 2 NTK sensors for $65 shipped, from a few threads I read about o2 sensors it sounds as if they are the same quality as Ac Delco/Delphi.

Now to mount up the belt tensioner

Wired the tach up today...barely hitting the throttle it jumped up to 2K.

The stock tach will needle out just about daily lol

Well I'm thinking the trans is fubar'd...it was slipping in reverse now it's not even going into gear.

I wouldn't ever put a 4L60E behind anything that isn't stock so I'd be saving up for a 4L80E. If the trans is truly messed up it's going to be at least a few months before my truck is done.

A T-56 would probably be pretty bad arse too

So here's the plan, I'll get everything done and bring it to a trans shop and have them look at the trans.

If it's going to be a cheap fix I'll rock the 4L60E till it gives out or till I do more engine work. If it needs substantial work done to bring it back (if it can be brought back at all), I'll get all the needed parts and let my transmission shop do the swap since I really don't have the time to work on it.

The shop that will be doing the work is Wendall's Transmission in Baytown, I've already been there a couple of times to speak with the owner and I like the way he runs things. Everything is extremely organized and the floor of the shop is clean enough to eat off of

Jakey, I do find it humorous my truck is nearly as old as I lolz

I didn't expect this trans to last long though I didn't expect the start up of da all mighty fi tre to destroy GMT400 magic.

Rob if you're willing to hook a brotha up I'll get a race ready trans otherwise I'll be on the look out for a used 4L80E and have my shop check it out and while they have it apart put a Transgo shift kit in it

It has always been slow shifting into reverse but has always shifted decent

Or, look for a used 6L80E.

Other than an Allison, or a "built" trans, you won't find one stronger AFAIK for a GM.
