I'm pulling out this engine
out of this truck
and this will take it's place...yeah I know it's supposed to be under the hood lulz
I picked up a '02 5.3 with ~45K miles for $500.
Plans include:

-Hardened Pushrods and PAC 1518 valve springs http://texas-speed.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=1065&catid=48

-Standalone harness and tune will be done by my friend who owns Brownspeed in Friendswood http://brownspeed.com/tuning-solutions/
-Detroit Truetrac...it may be a while after the swap when I get one of these
-A longggggg ways down the road I may throw some better heads on it that have some work done to them. Still too broke for that though
Finally the reasons of getting rid of the old engine:
-16 year old technology sucks.
-The 350 TBI is a reliable boat anchor.
-I'm tired of 13 MPG even when I'm babying the skinny pedal.
-I've thrown too much money at the 350 and I've only seen minimal gains.
-Looking to surprise some people with this old slow truck.
Right now I'm stocking up on parts, I probably won't get the actual engine in till early summer when I'm out of school.
I'll update this thread as I update the build thread on my truck forum.
