During the Memorial Day flood, our neighbors tree across the street fell blocking the road. Once the roads were clear of water, people started driving through our yard to get around the tree. It took us parking our cars on either side of the tree to get people to stop.

Get off your horse. Is it too much to ask that our Harvard educated mayor be a decent public speaker (or even that he pronounces correctly the names of townships, bayous, or the word "bayou") when his duties include personally addressing the city during times like this?

It's not racism, so stop going for low hanging fruit that isn't there. We live in the 4th largest city in the country, so it's a little embarrassing.

Silver lining to the day: I pulled up to the normally crowded Super H Mart without worrying about getting dinged in the parking lot by the regular clientele there. I still parked far away just in case.
