IHOP is under construction at Tower Point.

Maddie Joy Boutique has been open since the end of October. It's a great shop. As I understand it, the owners are associated with/same as the owners of Witt's End. Maddie Joy is a more affordable version of Witt's End and they skew toward fashion for women in their 30s and 40s. I highly recommend it.

Someone has franchise rights for Dunkin in BCS and has had several close calls on selecting a location. My understanding is that if the owner doesn't build within a certain time the franchise rights opencback up for the market.

Dunkin corporate is the holdup - not the franchisee. They have a model that they will approve - from what I hear - and franchisee can't find space that comes in on their approval - but not without franchisee trying. That may be just one side but what the Tom toms say.

From what I remember, they did have a space--in front of the Embassy Suites, and they tore down the building where Lovan Animal Care was.

I remember them saying Carl's Jr. at the same time as Panera Bread was coming, and Panera Bread took about a year to get built (it was a foundation for months). From what I could tell though, Carl's Jr.'s Texas expansion has more or less bombed, with no stores opening in years and a number closing.

The original owner of West End Elixir (on the actual West End of Northgate) divested himself of that entity some time ago and is focused solely on the Downtown Elixir and 5 Knocks bars for now.

There still might be one of his bars coming in the future on the south end of town.

Does anyone have any more info on Nobilitea? They closed auddenly and without warning. It was one of my wife's favorite study spots given that it was too far from campus to be inundated by over-chatty students looking to "study."
