Just checking in. It's the last day of May. My first mule deer hunt in NM (Unit 51 if anybody has any pointers) is less than 5 months away!

Work has been kicking my ass the past few months and I haven't really gotten to celebrate drawing my first tag or prepping for the hunt. Fortunately things should slow down a little and afford me a little more time to focus on preparing. Time to start gathering gear and getting back into shape.

Just got CC charged for deer in CO, GMU 11. Buddy of mine did as well, same first initial of last name and unit.

Don't see a charge for me and on CPW website it still says "entered" so no change there in status

I was awarded September bear but still waiting on deer news.

Since they were not entered at the same time, it is making me very nervous.

My card has a pending charge for my deer tag, so they're going through it now. No changes on my CO account yet, though.

I got my moose and speedgoat point and mule deer tag for unit 11. Waiting on Elk. Now the challenge is if I can even go out to hunt.

Urgent help needed...

Got an email from CO. The early rifle deer hunt i applied for in 44 had someone return their tag and I was next in line. I have until 8 am tomorrow to tell them if I want it.

Of course my brother, dad, and I just applied for WY leftover archery tags two days ago and have like a 30% chance to draw a tag between the three of us.

Wyoming elk hunt would likely be week of 9/4 so I could go straight from there to CO which is 9/10 to 9/18.

I feel like I'll be rushing everything and not enjoy a hunt I burned 5 points on in CO and not get enough scouting in.

Right now I'm leaning towards passing on it and just plan to do it next year.

I'm worried they may change the NR distribution of tags in CO next year.

I'm also worried about not drawing anything in WY (70% chance of nada). If that happens I'll likely go OTC archery elk.

If y'all don't draw Wyoming, maybe they could come along and help glass for the ER tag. If you do draw Wyoming, I bet you can figure it out.

The tag is 44, 45, and 444 but it is wilderness only.

I have an hour to decide and am still 50/50.
