Not a snake, but I always thought legless lizards were cool. Unfortunately, they have a very difficult time on asphalt or concrete. If they get caught on the street, they're almost immobile.
I'm not sure I'll ever figure these snakes out because I see no difference between the above and one of the cotton mouths that have the darker pigmentation.jmazz said:

Also look at the shape of the tails. Notice that the water snake's tail is long and slowly tapers from the body, where the water moccasin has a fatter body that quickly tapers into a skinny tail.
