I can't tonight but we should get some groups together for the new "prestige" raid lairs that drop this week! Get those 400 light weapons

I don't know why it took me so long, but I finally bought an external hard drive and I've put most every game I own back on the system. I didn't realize how many really enjoyable games I have from a variety of genres, which I sacrificed for the few we play most often. Right now I've been having a blast playing couch co-op with my boys, older games too, like Borderlands and Rayman Legends. Hell, we've been spending time on Mortal Kombat, Madden, MLB, FIFA, this funny, overly simplistic game called Gang Beasts, Alienation, Gauntlet (y'all old schoolers remember that one?), they'll even try to top my high score on Mrs. Pac Man. Just a ton of games. Then there are all the new ones coming out which will occupy our time, mainly Battlefield V and Anthem. There's just way too many games with the little free time we have for entertainment.
tl;dr-Sorry for all that. I must be excited. Return to Destiny or not?
The next release will be more of a D1 style of play. Primary, special and heavy kind of set up is allowed (so is special special heavy) So just keep that in mind.
I've tempered my expectations, but I'm also a huge fan of the series, and seeing the course correction, I'm more excited and pissed off at Uldren than ever. That's saying something cuz Uldren is a ******.

The weapons this week are primary - pulse / energy - smg / power - grenade launcher
The modifier is Arsenal - Weapons have no reserve ammo. Emptying the clip of a weapon refills the clips of your holstered weapons. Kinetic refills energy, energy refills power, power refills kinetic

Now confirmed you can't infuse the new 400 light raid weapons into anything that is not an exotic

Nah we ended up doing a regular raid. I think we're going to do prestige tonight, but the roster may be full

Some new secret area has been found.
Taken PE in Lost Oasis, a high value target Taken Knight called Urzok appears and retreats to a cave nearby. Kill him and a portal above the taken blight appears. Fireteam leader has to be the one to activate it. You get teleported into the Ulan Tan lost sector. There's a mini blight hidden above in a cave. Kill it then jump down the rabbit hole. Huge jumping puzzle area, 20 mins ran out, did not see the end. You hear the words "You shall drift"

Would definitely be down for a raid tonight! Boogie just texted me that he's on his way back so I know he'll be online tonight as well. Would really like to get a prestige run in. Haven't really had a chance to get a good run on it yet.
Count me in. I've been having some internet issues all day though so if I get booted a couple of times in the beginning I'll let someone else take a run. But i'm on now and ready to grind out either Black Spindle or some Escalation Protocol if anyone wants.

Did the public event finally start on IO or was it down for the night?
They finally got 'em back up and running. In the end we were able to get a few of us through it to snag the sniper. I know beezy, boogie, daazer, mid, and I were all able to get it with beezy's help. When I finally crashed out he was running it a 3rd time to try and help doc through it to try and get it for him.
Something else I really thought was cool is that there's an article that talks about how they may have gotten the name of this mission way back from Halo 2. If it doesn't embed properly on the link from my phone, just jump to about 7 minutes in. Cortana actually talks about something on Io.
Wasn't able to get it done for doc but got close. If we can help him, and anyone else who needs it, get Polaris Lance that'll make it so much easier

I'll be down to run it, what seems to be the best load out?
The mission and heroic version both closed with reset today, supposedly it will open back up this weekend.
From my experience, the best load out seems to be:
Kinetic: Midnight Coup, Better Devils, nameless midnight (kinetic doesn't matter too much, whatever you are comfortable with)
Energy: It helps to coordinate with your team for this slot. You want different elements for the different shields you will encounter. Non boss rooms are mainly solar and void. Boss room has some arc shields. You might also want to switch up close vs. long range. Pulse rifles and scouts are good for these (ex: Mananan, Inaugural Address are what I switched between), or an smg (EP/riskrunner) or auto for close range. You will want polaris lance in your inventory for boss room
Heavy: Sleeper is great, Darci/ EP sniper are good for the last room, linear fusions also work well, rocket launchers like sins or curtain call are fine
Subclasses: Titans want to go with hammers, hunters should go arcstrider or nightstalker, and warlocks should go with their solar class.
Other useful things: if you are a titan use lion rampants for the jump puzzle, and hunters use the stompee5s.
Titans should use synthoceps after that, and hunters should use orpheus or raiden flux depending on subclass

Yep, for those that didn't get it best thing to do would be to grab Polaris Lance this week (Complete Nessant Dawn 4, Catalyst is reward for completing 5 but it's not needed) & learn the jumping puzzle by watching videos.
Go Nightstalker (Orpheus Rig), Hammers, or Novabomb depending on your class (don't know about exotics for them though)
I went crimson, solar mananan (scout), and void grenade launcher for rooms 1 and 2. Riskrunner for psions between room 2 and 3 as well as clearing the blights in the final room. Once in the final room I switched to Tractor Cannon and booped Drevis for a novabomb (does about a 1/3rd of his health). Switch to Polaris Lance and sit back where you 1st fall into the room and focus on Drevis. He'll hide but you can swing left and right from where you are and try to get him back in the middle, if he's stubborn turn and hit one of the other bosses. Keep up an empowering rift as often as you can.
