Key notes from Buchanan’s thoughts on Ratcliffe
- Marcus Ratcliffe came here from San Diego State. I remember you added this guy who looked like just a throw-in. Man, he's been a really nice player. Two years ago, he had three interceptions.
- Here's the thing about Ratcliffe: He seems to be in the right place. He probably could have had three interceptions last year, and he caught them. We know he can catch. He is a good, sound player. I think he was the type of guy that everything you've got from him, he has exceeded expectations, and he will continue to do that. He's a classy guy.
- He should be on several preseason awards. I don't know if he is athletically gifted like Dalton Brooks; maybe he is? He is just a good football player. Mike Elko says this is the best secondary at A&M he's ever had. Ratcliffe will be a starter, it seems. That says everything right there.
- Hopefully, he will be a postseason All-American. he is another huge example of why you give Elko and his staff the benefit of the doubt about rebuilding the team because they find guys that are under the radar and turn out to be stealth bombers. He is one of them.
