Getting close to full New Monarch titan set except helmet which is often my exotic spot anyway. Just need to pop more supers on EDZ over the next few days to finish it up. I'm pretty happy about it the look on a Titan is great.

I still haven't done a Nightfall, seems like something not easy to do with rando players.

Oh and i finally found a masterwork that I will use. Uriel's gift autorifle in energy slot generates orbs on multi kill and faster reload. Not too shabby!

Got the same one last week. Have yet to unequip it. Masterwork weapons have made it a little more fun than usual. During strikes and any pve I get my super around 4-6 times. Mostly because of my exotic legs that give me super energy for every enemy tethered. But it's awesome.

Anyone interested in a Nightfall tonight @ 9:30 ish CST with a noob? I've never run one.

I have my Titan at 325 or so, wanting to unlock the New Monarchy helmet ornament to finish the set.

This Week at Bungie - 1/25/18
https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/46596

Some good stuff in this one. Iron Banner info, hearing that masterwork armor may get better buffs eventually, a bunch of good raid encounter reward changes as well as raid perks being added, Pre-The Taken King mechanism of exotic drops in the raid, and some other stuff.

Iron Banner
  • Tuesday, Jan 30th -> Tuesday, Feb 6th
  • Control
  • New Items
  • Kinetic Hand CannonEnergy Scout RiflePower ShotgunSparrow, Ghost, Emblem (tracks # of rank ups), and Ship (not pictured)
  • Season 1 gear can still drop from engrams
  • Can directly buy all armor and (all) three of the weapons from Saladin
  • Season 2 ornaments
  • No limit to how many tokens or rank ups you can complete

Masterwork Armor
  • All legendary armor can drop as masterwork will increased chances from raid and trials.
  • Each piece grants 3% damage reduction when in your super (for up to a total of 15%)
  • Upgrading gear costs 5 masterwork cores and 20 legendary shards
  • You can rework the stats (resiliency, recovery, mobility) for 1 masterwork core and 10 legendary shards.
  • Currently a UI bug where if you rapidly rework armor it'll look like it reworked to the same stat as it already had. It's a UI bug, no materials were actually used and it wasn't reworked.
  • This is the 1st version of Armor Masterworks. They are planning to continue to update the system and add additional benefits. They are taking feedback.

Raid Rewards
  • Jan 30th Patch
  • Raid Armor will have legendary (+5 Defense) raid specific mods added to them (added to new gear and previously earned).
  • Perks aren't encounter specific like in D1, they are general buffs only active during the raid.
  • Some include: "Recharge your grenade when you activate your Super", "Deal 20% extra damage after getting a melee kill", and "Solar abilities deal 25% more damage".
  • If you switch out the mod for another one, you can reequip it for 1 Calus Token (it stays in your inventory like an ornament, it's not actually consumed)
  • Completing Prestige mode encounters before completing any normal mode encounters will reward you with both normal and prestige mode loot (like Hard mode in D1 Raids)
  • Raid encounter's always drop a raid piece? (They contradict themselves by saying "no matter what encounter you clear, you can get raid loot" can vs always.)
  • Completing an encounter can also give you an exotic...not an engram but actual weapons and armor (non-quest exotics and specific to the class your using)
  • Raid vendor will sell rotating stock that requires normal raid completion for normal gear and prestige raid completion for prestige mode
  • New Exotic Ghost "Contender's Shell" - Can drop from final boss in the raid or raid lair "We also included some bad luck protection to avoid the "Nanophoenix Problem" so that dedicated raiders can rest assured they'll get their hands on it eventually, even if it takes several weeks.
  • Ghost Perks: Raid specific perks. 1: adds a chance for bright engrams to be added to the encounter's loot pool. Likelihood of getting one increases each time you don't. 2: 50% chance those exotics that might drop from the encounters aren't exotics you already have. 3: Tracks the number of encounters you've completed.

Other Fixes
  • Prometheus Lens - It now generates ammo instead of pulling from reserves and has increased base damage (presumably not back to the original amount)
  • Fixed an issue where new characters created after Curse of Osiris weren't getting the Flashpoint milestone.
  • When in a social space, you can now get a notification when your postmaster is full
  • Heroic strike completions now have a better chance of granting exotic rewards
  • Mercury challenges are now available during adventures
  • Fixed an issue where Curse of Osiris strikes were not granting clan engrams when featured as a nightfall activity
  • Fixed an issue where challenges weren't not appearing in quickplay.
  • Increased the dismantle timer for Masterwork Cores.

Why no mass delete shaders button.
"Shaders are individual items, and individual items trigger individual reward bundles when dismantled, even when those rewards are simple. That creates a challenge for us that we haven't yet addressed, which is triggering dozens (or hundreds) of reward bundles simultaneously when an entire stack of shaders is dismantled. This is challenging not simply because an arbitrary number of rewards need to be run and delivered simultaneously, but because we also have to safeguard against scenarios where this produced items that couldn't fit in your inventory, which could be instantly lost (ex: shaders that produce Glimmer could easily evaporate into nothing if you were at or near the cap.)"

  • They are looking into a mass exchange solution
  • They are looking at ways to re-integrate D1 Armor shader mechanics without losing the ability to shade weapons, ghosts, ships, sparrows, or customize specific pieces of armor.
  • They are looking at re-introducing shader collections or ways to get copies of a shader in your possession.

Appreciate it

I don't think most of the stuff in the last 3 sections were talked about in the TWAB post.

"Cayde now properly acknowledges player accomplishments during Mercury Flashpoint weeks when granting the Flashpoint engram, rather than asking the player about the weather on Io"

And here I thought Cayde was just making small talk

Future Updates

SANDBOX CHANGES
These will be released throughout the coming months and may still change but "the outlook looks good"
"Our goals for this round are to provide individual players with more hero moments by increasing overall speed and mobility, increasing the amount of supers you charge to demolish your enemies, and increasing the frequency and impact of our most montage worthy power weapons, especially in the Crucible."

Changes
  • All three glides plus Catapult and Strafe Lift have been retuned and buffed to make them more unique and faster.
  • The mobility stat has had its range expanded and been completely retuned as well. In short, everyone gets faster and the high end is higher.
  • The players' ground speed cap has been increased, allowing for faster total movement speed, regardless of how you may get there.
  • Arcstrider, Sentinel, and Striker all move faster, and at the same speed as one another, while in their Supers.
  • Arcstrider, as a whole, is performing well in PvP but mostly due to its neutral game perks. We've made the following changes in an effort to get the Super to be a more competitive option:
    • Faster Attack Animations.
    • Faster Dodge Animations.
    • Increased range of all attacks.
  • Supers recharge faster for everyone!
  • We've buffed several weapon archetypes (including, but not limited to, Hand Cannons, Pulse Rifles, Sniper Rifles, and Shotguns) and a few specific perks, as well.
    • A key goal here is to make Shotguns, Snipers, and Fusion rifles more prevalent in the game.
  • We've also been working side-by-side with our friends on PvP to increase the pace of PvP combat and the frequency of power play. Here's a sneak peek at their hard work:
    • Player respawn times for all Quickplay modes have been decreased.
    • Power Ammo respawn timers for all Quickplay modes have been reduced ~30%.
    • Power Ammo respawn timers in Survival have been reduced ~40%.
    • Power Ammo respawn timers in Countdown have been reduced ~25%.
    • Ammo counts have been adjusted in relation to these timers, and in relation to weapon type.
    • Enemy players now drop their power ammo on death.
      • The dropped brick is available to anyone until picked up or 30 seconds have passed.
  • Shoulder Charge mechanics that were introduced a few weeks back have been completely reverted.

In the future they want to embrace the communities playstyles even if they aren't being used as Bungie intended.

Sniper flinch is actually a huge issue for them to fix because of a bug shipped with the game that makes them unable to lower that value in one sweep. So they have to change the "art" of the snipers individually to work around that issue.

Future attention is on mods 2.0 and exotic rebalancing. They are still looking at the weapon slot system and seeing if there are any viable improvements there.

UPDATE 1.1.2 ISSUES AND BUGS

  • Shader Previews: An issue was discovered shortly after deployment impacting Shader Previews. If a player attempts to preview a shader, the tooltip will automatically change to display the first page of shaders in inventory. The issue has been escalated to the appropriate team for investigation.
  • Lost Sector throttle: A short-term solution was shipped, reducing the throttle timer from 10 minutes to 5. We have a Hotfix planned for mid-February to fully address this issue, but we wanted to deploy this change sooner than later to reduce impact to the player experience when clearing multiple Lost Sectors in short amounts of time. Stay tuned to @BungieHelp for announcements on when to expect this Hotfix.
  • Future XP Balancing: Destiny Update 1.1.2 has reduced the required amount of XP for a rank-up from 160k to 120k XP. Additional balancing for Crucible XP rewards are currently in development, planned for a future Hotfix. Both Quickplay and Competitive playlists will receive an increase to XP rewards. Additional information will be shared when available.

Next week will feature the raid team talking about the Eater of Worlds raid (prestige mode?) and the Crimson Days Event.

Someone on reddit pointed out that all these mobility buffs might actually hurt crucible if TTK isn't decreased dramatically.
titanmaster_race

So the timing of the prestige mode mini raid release coincides with the release of the new DLC? Will that take the place of a new "raid" in the DLC?

Raid lair instead of a raid was already disappointing, but prestige mode raid lair as new DLC content might turn me off from destiny forever.
Beezy2389
How long do you want to ignore this user?
AG
I can't imagine they'd do that. I'm still hoping they are following their release schedule of Full raids with the major updates once a year and then raid lairs in the two DLCs in between. Although, it is odd they'd wait until the new DLC to release the prestige mode though.
