Yeah, one of Dak's underlying INT issues is the he seems intent on never throwing a ball away. He'll continue to hang onto it and then make a late throw begging to be picked. His WR's were not very good this year in providing good windows, but dude, sometimes you gotta just live to fight another play

This is a really good point, because it feels like a lot of Dak's ints this year were when he was trying to extend plays or make a play on the run.

I really don't think this has been touched on enough.

I really think they need to move on from Moore, but I think the Jones family loyalty and stubborness may get in the way.

I don't think Moore sucks, by any means, but I think he's pretty average. He can call a good game here or there, but I rarely remember him scheming up a great game plan against a top defense.

More than anything, I think it would do Dak some good to have another set of eyes and another voice to work with him.

You can argue that Dak has regressed under Moore. But yeah, I don't see Jerry moving on from one of his golden boys.

Yeah, I don't know if it was the game thread or this one, but at the end yesterday, I mentioned wanting a new OC. It's time for a new voice in there. I think McCarthy is fine but I think it's time for a new OC and fresh set of ideas. We are in Jason Garrett territory now with Moore. I think both he and Dak are an inconsistent marriage

I agree that it is probably time to move on from Kellen Moore if he doesn't get hired by someone else, but I think Jerry would let him go right now. He is one of Jerry's guys, but after this miss in the playoffs against a team with Brock freaking Purdy at QB, I'd have to believe Jerry is PISSED.

There's no way we re-sign Schultz, right?

not unless it's <$8mm year

unfortunately, he was our #2 option this year and Dak's #1 in the redzone... Dak will lobby hard to keep his guy.

He shat the bed last night though, dropped a few passes and then that play at the end was laughable. Edit - BOTH plays on that last drive. Not keeping forward progress and not getting both feet out.

Jerry wants Moore to have the Jason Garrett career trajectory.

There is nothing the offense does schematically that I would consider unique. Moore is an adequate OC but nothing special

I agree. On that 3rd quarter drive there may have been 2 separate plays that had it been Pollard would have been TDs. Instead Zeke got tackled on both.

I'll also add. I was listening to Brad and Babe on the post game last night and they talked about how it was a successful season because so many people were upset about Amari leaving and not replacing him. They said that the offense ended up just fine. Not 2 minutes later they mentioned the biggest needs and number 1 was WR help. Ummmm you had that and traded it for a late round pick.

Absolutely none. Ferguson can do everything Shultz can, and he's probably more athletic on top of that.

95% confidence we let him walk. The young TEs have proven they are ready to take over and be competent. And keep in mind that Ferguson & Hendershot showed a helluva lot more than Dalton ever did as a rookie, so they very well could be an upgrade as early as next season.

We definitely wouldn't tag him again... my hope is we tag Pollard.

Yep. Tag Pollard. Let Schultz walk and push hard to bring in another top WR. Not sure how much money we will have to spend, but I would not be opposed to bringing in a veteran guy that will make an immediate impact. I would kick the tires on Hopkins in AZ.

And I too really like the young TEs we have.

Also gotta say the NFC championship coverage of Hurts versus Purdy is going to be absolutely brutal. Not sure I'm even gonna watch

Agree.

You have two guys that have played well. Give them their due, but they also have top flight offensive coaches that scheme them easy throws and they have an incredible roster around them.

100% agree with this. I love our TE room right now with him and Hindershot.

We probably should've taken Noah Brown off the field more and run more two or three tight-end sets where we spread them out and actually used them as pass catchers.

The third tight end was injured in practice

Injuries really hurt us down the stretch... and much of this year. We were just lucky a handful of key players stayed healthy most of the year.

It's a part of the NFL, I get it but we had some tough injuries this year and the Pollard one was the nail in the coffin for us last night.

Tyron Smith missed most the year, then Terrence Steele was out with ACL, Biadasz couldn't have been 100%.
Losing Hendershot sucked because we ran a lot of 3TE sets this year and he made some plays.

Pollard was your best offensive weapon all year and goes down in the 2nd Q.

Then on defense you've got LVE coming back from injury, 2 starting CBs done for the year and Kearse playing hurt/injured. Parsons looked gas/hurt (had a cast at the end of the year)

Something is wrong with Diggs or he's just a big p*ssy.

We just started to fall apart towards the end of the season.

Pollard could be done with that severe injury.

Add another speedster to that list of needs.

Hello Devon Achane??

On a positive note, CD really blossomed down the stretch.

For a team that didn't have any other pass catcher that the defense feared, was pretty impressive to watch him take charge out there.

Getting a legitimate #2 WR is an absolute must next year. We didn't give Gallup a ton of money, him and Noah Brown or whoever else can be our #3. Right now Tolbert looks like a complete swing & miss which is unfortunate.

I wouldn't jump to many conclusions yet on Pollard. "Broken leg" can be a hairline fracture, and there is a wide range of sprain severity. Now if it is an actual break and you are putting hardware in there, then I'm looking at a one year deal on the cheap while drafting a replacement

Agree. I was one that was critical early in the year because I didn't see a #1. He def changed the narrative down the stretch.

I will say this about getting a #2...Why not go out and try to get another #1? I think you have a window here with a good defense, solid OL.

If you could make a bold move at WR and bring in a another good RB, this offense could be really something.

Hello Devon Achane??

I heard it was just a fracture, didn't sound terrible. The tag seems in order or if we can get a discount 1/2 year deal because of the injury then that's fine too.

And yes, I started talking about Achane the second he declared. This team became a different beast once Pollard became a threat to chew up big yards or take it to the house on any given play. We 100% need another guy like that on our team.
DannyDuberstein

Schultz has gotta go. Other TEs can do what he did, and they will need that $$$. Several guys are up, and you've got guys like CD and Parsons who will need a deal in the not too distant future
DannyDuberstein

Btw, one of the reasons I think now is a good time to move on from Moore is that they are in a skill player transitional period. RB is changing. TE is changing. They need a WR. Best time to align new ideas with how you shape the roster

I totally agree with both of your posts. Need to dump Schultz and Moore has demonstrated that he is average at best and his offenses tend to die toward the ends of seasons and in the postseason, in particular.

Yeah Tolbert was and is a swing and miss thus far. We could've had David Bell, Danny Gray, Romeo Doubs, or Khalil Shakir, all of which were taken after Tolbert and at least played all year, some of which have good upside.

I fully understand that Travis Kelce might be the best TE of all time, but what Andy Reid and Mahomes are doing with Juju, Toney, MVS etc. is incredible. Mahomes is unreal.

Cowboys haven't drafted a 1st round QB since Troy Aikman. Let that sink in.

To be fair the Cowboys beat Greenbay. Dez caught that pass. One of the worst calls ever

Romo takes several of these Dak led teams farther. Romo never got supported like Dak. I wish Romo had stayed healthy
Tony Romo ****ing sucked. Dak and Tony Romo are in the same boat.....guys that were not good enough to get it done.

Dak is 10x the player that Tony Romo was.
