What was going on w Schultz at the end of the game? Two really awful plays.

Yeah I'm a bit skeptical on putting that INT on Dak. Gallup didn't come back to that ball whatsoever.

I used to think Gallup was a very good second option but he's done absolutely nothing of note in the most critical stretch. We need help at WR

I am so tired of watching Diggs make business decisions out there. IF he actually hits Kittle on that tip drill catch I am pretty sure he dislodges the ball a the last minute.

Yep and that INT drop fell right into his gut. They don't get any easier than that. Hugh possible shift in the game there.

He was probably wondering why Dak was looking at him at all when Zeke was wide, wide open in the flat. Combine that with the fact that Dak threw late for the comeback route and there's a much larger DB draped on his back that can undercut him easily, you can see him try to move for the open area to the sideline but Dak underthrew it for that.

Could Gallup have done better? Probably. But that was the wrong place for Dak to throw the ball. The DB was even making a break toward Zeke before Dak even threw, that's how he got into position so quickly.
Macarthur
How long do you want to ignore this user?
He has no idea what's else is going on if he's doing what he's supposed to. Dak did throw that late and it ended up being a poor decision but that doesn't absolve Gallup for a poor route and effort once the ball is in the air.

And again, I reference the tweet above. When your WR2 gets held under 25 yards for that many games, you got problems at WR.

Protect the ball and the Cowboys win this one. It's really that simple.

Dak locks on to players at times. Misses seeing wide open guys.

A few weeks ago I remember hearing a comment that Diggs may have been told to make sure he doesn't get injured on a tackle because the Cowboys were so depleted at DB. And honestly, a few weeks ago that kinda makes sense. The problem is that creates bad habits and then when you have an opportunity to make a play, like last night, you completely whiff by turning your head. Just awful fundamentals.

This is a pretty crazy fact, and one that I think encompasses Jerry and the Cowboys well since that time. Jerry in all honesty is a really good drafter, and he's smart with his free agent money, however, his Achilles heel is latching on to guys he's drafted and not cutting bait when he's needed too. Not drafting a QB in the first round since Troy paints that picture.

What does Dallas' cap situation look like? Is it good enough to where they can add a few pieces and make another run next season?

And Troy was a no brainer. Landry was already planning to take him in that draft.

I think it's decent but not great. Any real infusion will need to be via the draft. Pollard, LVE, Bones, and Zeke are big decisions

Elliott is washed up and needs to go, in my opinion. Pollard is now iffy with a major (very unfortunate) injury, but he was great this year if he can make full recovery. Draft positioning is pretty bad and the Eagles are only going to get better with a top 10 pick and 2 first-round picks. The biggest need is to replace the QB, but since Jones overpaid him, that's not gonna happen.

Yeah, I think Zeke needs to go as well. I think you look in the draft, as high as the 3rd or 4th round for a guy that can do what he did this year and more. I extend Pollard unless that ankle is really wrecked; it may open the chance to do a one year and revisit in a year. If you don't extend LVE, you gotta find a run stuffer. I'd love to get Bones extended

I think you nailed it. He's the opposite of teams like New England and Seattle. He's a loyal guy but this business doesn't reward loyalty

To be fair the Cowboys beat Greenbay. Dez caught that pass. One of the worst calls ever

Romo takes several of these Dak led teams farther. Romo never got supported like Dak. I wish Romo had stayed healthy

If Murray doesn't fumble he's on his way to 6 , a win, and the Dez non call is never even a thing.

I don't think Dak's contract situation and how locked into it we are is a death nail. There's only two years left, and although likely not tradable, you can absolutely work with and around his contract. The Cowboys need to decide if they want to try what San Fran did a couple years ago with Trey Lance. I know that hasn't work out yet, but that is what they will have to do. They will have to trade up in the draft to get a guy. The good news is, San Fran has shown that giving up all of those assets hasn't hurt them at all, and recent team building in general has shown that its not a killer to do it.

With some of the other guys like Zeke, Pollard, LVE etc. I would 1000% sign LVE to a contract. Give him 3 years with outs at 2 or so and lock him in, he's earned it by being a very good LB for us. I would let Zeke walk no matter what. Pollard is the interesting one, because if they go into the draft and use a 1st-3rd round pick on a RB, then I would let Pollard go too, but if they don't draft a guy then they absolutely need to bring him back.

Wasnt there like 4 minutes left on the clock after Dez caught it? Not sure Dallas was stopping GB from getting at least a FG

Look I get that that we need WR help. Gallup is average at best and after that it's a bunch of fours. But his interceptions, not only tonight but all year, have costed this team legitimate wins. I understand that it's not all on him, but tonight it was, in the biggest moment in the last 20 years, it was all on Dak.

And to the 40 per year. It is the going rate, but it's stupid when it take up almost 1/4 if your salary cap. Play hardball and get the number down. After tonight I have a hard time believing that anyone in the league believes Dak is worth 40 per year. Just look at Aaron Rogers. Was he worth 50 this year and do you think the packers wished they didn't do that deal?

It's not just the INTs but also the inaccuracy. The egregiously poor throw to Gallup on the deep ball was a huge miss, and several of his intermediate throws were off enough to allow the DB to make a play or otherwise impact the outcome.

Watching Purdy step up with confidence and hit guys in stride in the clutch was a striking contrast. The Niners didn't ask a whole lot from Purdy, but in terms of execution when it mattered you would have guessed Dak was the rookie if you didn't know better.

Focusing just on the INTs and should have been INTs misses other aspects of last night's game from Dak, the inaccuracy, forcing balls into coverage when other guys were open, and late throws, which were equally as concerning.

It's just one game, but when it's a game on the biggest stage, and it's billed as a legacy type game, and your QB shrinks under that spotlight, it's concerning and makes you question whether he can ever do it under that pressure. It was a heckuva time to play so poorly.

And, Dak was very very lucky that he didn't have 3 picks with the last one going for a pick 6.

Yeah, one of Dak's underlying INT issues is the he seems intent on never throwing a ball away. He'll continue to hang onto it and then make a late throw begging to be picked. His WR's were not very good this year in providing good windows, but dude, sometimes you gotta just live to fight another play

They could put the tag on Pollard and then draft a guy. That allows you to see if Pollard can get that burst back without locking him in long term. Also, in the limited time we've seen Malik Davis, I like what I've seen from him.

Yeah, I agree. I think when you listen to McCarthy he has talked a lot about being aggressive this year. I think he has pushed that narrative with Dak and I just don't think Dak is a guy you can play a game with in the same manner as Mahomes (I know that's stating the obvious), but you just can't play aggressive ALL the time with Dak. You have to be smart about picking and choosing your spots in a game.

So, I think that narrative that they've drilled into Dak has changed his mentality into having to win the game every series, when you don't have to go out and with the game on every play.

Here's an interesting thought.

What if the Cowboys had let Gallup and Schultz walk and kept Cooper and Wilson? I think that would have made them a better team. I just can't believe we let Cooper leave with such low compensation. Could have really used Cooper last night.

Dak was not good. But many of you are 100% minimizing how the lack of a run thread affected the pass rush and coverage.

I still think that if Pollard doesn't go down Cowboys win this game even with Dak's poor play.

A back is a higher priority than a QB and you can get a good one in the 2nd/3rd/4th round if you're smart.

Draft 2, actually.

Also need to find a slot receiver that consistently gets open.
