Even if we consider drafting a QB this year or next year to learn behind Dak and replace him...Dak is here for 2 more years minimum...and I dont see any team trading for him

Look at what the Eagles are doing. Mirror that.

The Eagles have built an offense designed to hide their QB's debilitating weaknesses. I think you'll see what that gets you next weekend.

SF will eat their RPO game up.
I was talking their organization as a whole. They are one of the best run in the league right now.

And nah, I think the iggles will still be favored and do just fine against this team. Especially in Philly.

Philadelphia is doing essentially what the Rams did last year, loading up for one big run.

8 of their 11 defensive starters are free agents this offseason, and they will have less than $20 million in cap space BEFORE signing their rookie class and have very little flexibility in terms of restructuring deals.

Their roster is going to be gutted this off-season, and while they'll keep much of the offense intact history has shown two read RPO schemes don't see sustained success across multiple seasons. DCs will have all off-season to pick apart their film.

That's why I wasn't distraught about playing in SF. Philly's home-field advantage is real, and THEN take into account it will likely be below freezing.

Cowboys need to draft Bijan Robinson. Its always something with this team.
This was a winnable game with any type of running game.

Dak wasn't good enough either tonight.

No more drafting RBs in the first round
If the Cowboys had a badass tailback then they win this game today easily.

You can get badass running backs anywhere in the draft.
The best backs in any given year are usually guys drafted in the 2nd-4th rounds.
That really isn't true. Its an urban legend

The top 5 Tailbacks in rushing this year where all drafted in the 1st or 2nd round.

Almost all of the top 10 rushers in this years NFL where drafted in the top 2 rounds. There was one exception of a guy that was a 5th rounder.....everyone other elite tailback was drafted high.

If you can get an elite talent at tailback, and you already have a great line then you pull the trigger.
You pull the trigger because that player can step right in and be great.

As late as they will be picking in the first, I have no issue taking a RB there if he's a stud.

Jerry would give his left nut to be in their position right now. They are one step away from their second super bowl in 6 years. And that's after firing the HC that won the SB in 2017. They have a top draft pick this year after finishing with the best record in the league. I'd play Tim Tebow if we could get to a SB. I don't care what kind of offense it is.

You are right, but you would probably give them the Mahomes treatment and let them sit a year and then Daks last year, all bets are off, give it to whoever wins out.

On the RB front, if Bijan was available at 26, it would be hard not to draft him. I would let Pollard and Zeke walk if they got Bijan.

Daks just not good enough. He's a good guy, leader, tries hard, but makes the same mistakes. He's lucky they dropped that last interception.

I would also like to see us go another direction w OC. Moore is painfully avaerage. I think he's taken Dak as far as the two of them can go. I think it would be good for Dak to have a fresh voice.

Finding a franchise QB is the #1 hardest thing to do for any team. Not saying you can't draft a QB, but our focus should and will be building a better team around Dak.

I honestly believe if we had a better running game Daks play would've been good enough.
Macarthur

Yeah, the pollard thing was a thought break. Don't mean for this to excuse Dak, but in the 2nd half, he had a #1 WR and a RB that is washed against the #1 defense. Tough to win w that on the road in the playoffs.
Macarthur

Two things had a huge effect on that game. Pollard injury and the Diggs drop.

Not only did that diggs drop cost points, I actually think Diggs turns that up the sideline and he might have scored. Can't believe he dropped that.

I think this is the only thing we can do that may salvage the Dak era. I've heard radio talk about their relationship as they played together and there's just nothing new he can "teach" Dak. It's painfully obvious as Dak has objectively gotten worse and keeps making the same mistakes

How about Dak's INTs? Both were terrible decisions.

Build around Dak, and whoever the QB that likely takes his spot in 2-3 years. Thats the key, make the rest of the team so good that you just need an ok QB and all the pressure isnt on his shoudlers

I think the Cowboys got as far as they could get this season to be honest. They need to get younger on the O-line and at RB, and need to get better at WR and CB. The Amari Cooper trade looks awful in hindsight. I won't be surprised if Jerry swings for the fences and trades up for Bijan Robinson.

What if I told you there was a QB coming up in the draft with the first name of Stetson…

They are young on the OL.

Smith, McGovern, Biadasz, Steele are all young. They need to address WR2, CB2, DT and LB.

I know we just lost so the wound is fresh but the cowboys have the 3rd youngest team in the nfl. The future is nice.

Yeah, you can never have enough CBs, but I think Bland looked really good and they may have found a good player there.

I love pollard and would not be opposed to signing him to a decent contract but I think RB and WR have to be a focus. You win in this league w explosive plays and CD can't be the only one outside that can do that.

Hasn't been the same since his injury he's a step and a half slower now and continually makes poor decisions.

Zeke got paid and lazy, he's washed up.

You're right. Maybe I should have made it more specific that they need to move on from Tyron Smith. A great Cowboy and HOFer, but starting to look past his prime. Would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Steele had not gotten hurt at the end of the season.

Saw where the cards would be looking to dump Hopkins. If the money works, he would be a great addition.
gigem1223

I agree but Bland is more suited to play the slot. We need a big physical corner opposite of Diggs. Honestly, Ramsey would be a perfect fit and he may be available for trade in the off-season.

I think that's a bit much.

I will remind everyone the cowboys WR group was dead last…dead last in separation this year. When your QB is throwing into the smallest windows in the league, he's going to have some bad results, at times.

Need to get LVE and Dono resigned, cut Zeke and possible move on from Tyron. Too expensive for an injury prone swing tackle.

I'd probably also let TP walk but I doubt Jerry does. I think we could find his production in the 2nd or 3rd round (Achane anyone?). Plus I'm a big fan of Davis.

I don't, he led the league in interceptions playing fewer games. Should have had a pick six to the linebacker at the end of the game.
Macarthur

Dak was not good enough. Period.

He also needs help. His WR corp is garbage and his primary RB for most of the game is completely washed.

Two things can both be true.

Sure he does as all QB's do but he's not the same since his injury and Zeke is washed up.

Macarthur

Maybe. I'm assuming you're talking about the ankle? I actually think the thumb prob continued to bother him through the season. His INTs this year are an outlier.

Gotta keep building around him and I will say again that I think we need to move on from Moore. Give him a fresh voice.

Let's see how good Dak is when he doesn't have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL.

I already know the answer to that.
