Of course they were, but this is the NFL. It's so hard to win in the playoffs that the goal is just to keep getting there consistently and hope to eventually breakthrough.

I'd franchise Pollard, draft an interior DL or WR in the first round, see what you have in Tyron Smith to see if he has another year in him, grab a free agent corner and linebacker, let Schultz walk (I think Ferguson will be better player soon), cut Zeke post-June 1 for the money.

Helluva season and played well against the hottest team in football.

But Dallas made a handful of terrible mistakes and misses and SF did not. Not a fun way to lose but there isn't any way to lose in the playoffs and feel good about it.

Cowboys need to draft Bijan Robinson. Its always something with this team.
This was a winnable game with any type of running game.

Dak wasn't good enough either tonight.

This team is never going to win ***** So long as Dallas continues to be the most valuable franchise in pro sports, nothing will change. Stop buying tickets, jerseys, any sort of licensed equipment.

So frustrating. This program is a joke.
CNN is an enemy of the state and should be treated as such.

They need more playmakers. CD is the ONLY WR that threatens the D. Numerous folks on Twitter at the game kept saying over and over that no one was getting open except CD. Dak wasn't very good but we've said over and over that his WR group gets the least amount of separation of anyone in the league.

Gotta get him another WR.

No more drafting RBs in the first round

Michael Gallup did not have a single catch tonight.

Trevon Diggs missed interception was also a big play.

I think the same thing about Ferguson. Been screaming it all year. They need WR help for sure, and drafting a guy in the first or second feels like a must, same for interior DL. But idk, i would start thinking about what's next with and after Dak. He's obviously the starter going into next year, but you have to start to formulate a plan for what to do with him. You can't keep paying him 40 per and believing you're going to win with him at that number at the very least.

Dak isn't going anywhere. You have to add more weapons and go to war again next year.

Get off the 40 million. That is the going rate for todays starting quarterbacks.

The 49ers are going to the NFC Championship for the 2nd straight year with Jimmy G and now a rookie at quarterback.
They are doing that because they have a more talented offensive line, tailbacks and defensive players.

The 9ers will get steam rolled next week. Eagles will eat them up with that DL.
Kellso

Defense played well enough to win....but this team isn't talented enough on offense to beat a team like San Francisco.

You defeat a team like this by going 1990's Dallas Cowboys and doing that they did to us....wearing them down with an epic running game which then leads to open play action.

When your starting tailback can't average more than 3YPC for the last 5 games then teams can drop that extra defender into the passing lanes to disrupt the timing of plays.

Dak is 100% capable if you give him weapons. What he can't do is carry the team on his back against the #1 defense.

Losing Pollard changed the entire game.

I have more to say about the positive outlook for this team going forward, but I'll save that for another time. Gonna be way to much drama I'm this thread tonight and I'm fine if people want to vent.

Losing in the playoffs sucks no matter how it went down.

To me, any plan that involves rolling the dice with a different QB is a non-starter for now. Finding a top-10 caliber QB is SO hard and some franchises have literally never found one. You keep building around Dak until his play drops off significantly.

I remember 2000-2006 and I never, ever want to be back there again. That is just a complete wasteland as a fan. And some franchises are literally ALWAYS in that wasteland.

Ask Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Washington, etc. whether or not they'd take Dak Prescott.

Look I get that that we need WR help. Gallup is average at best and after that it's a bunch of fours. But his interceptions, not only tonight but all year, have costed this team legitimate wins. I understand that it's not all on him, but tonight it was, in the biggest moment in the last 20 years, it was all on Dak.

And to the 40 per year. It is the going rate, but it's stupid when it take up almost 1/4 if your salary cap. Play hardball and get the number down. After tonight I have a hard time believing that anyone in the league believes Dak is worth 40 per year. Just look at Aaron Rogers. Was he worth 50 this year and do you think the packers wished they didn't do that deal?

Get off the 40 Million. That is done and accounted for. That is the going rate for a starting quarterback that has yet to have a losing season.

A lot of decisions to make this offseason. This was our best chance in years. Definitely got unlucky that the Eagles were hot all season and secured the division. This is a depressing loss.

My point with this is, is if the cowboys want him back when his contract is up, let him walk or have him take less. That's all.

It was a good season.

One of the things I enjoy the most about being Cowboys fan (since the early 1980's), is the drama. It unlike rooting for any other team in any sport, I want the drama, I want the crazy to come out, good or bad. This season delivered.

Not too shabby all in all. The future looks bright!

Resign Pollard. Cut Zeke. Draft a WR high. Defense could use CB and run stuffing DT help. Get a RB that can take a short yardage load in the mid-rounds

You can get badass running backs anywhere in the draft. The best backs in any given year are usually guys drafted in the 2nd-4th rounds.

The Eagles have built an offense designed to hide their QB's debilitating weaknesses. I think you'll see what that gets you next weekend.

SF will eat their RPO game up.

Let's see how he looks against the #1 D next week. He's won one playoff game against an awful giants D.

Actually a better strategy is to win during their rookie contract then move them along.

I was talking their organization as a whole. They are one of the best run in the league right now.

And nah, I think the iggles will still be favored and do just fine against this team. Especially in Philly.

Yup. The Eagles are loading up because they have Smith and Hurts on rookie deals. That clears a lot of cap room for other areas.

I'm guessing this is Zeke's last game as a Cowboy.

This game was winnable if the Cowboys had any semblance of a running game.

Last play as a Cowboy and he gets pancaked playing center.

My first pick would be secondary.

My second pick would be tight end.

I want to pick another linebacker at some point. I'm cautious with LVE's neck.

WR in the 3rd round area, that's where you got Gallup. Or maybe later. You picked Noah Brown and Cedric Wilson in 6-7 round.

Assuming you sign Pollard, I would find RB on scrap heap. Or a free agent.

I think the defensive line is pretty good. I might ignore that in the draft this year.

What sucks is we had that too when Dak and Zeke were young. If we had any money to load up the defense during that time we could have made a run.

Unfortunately we were stuck paying Romos dead cap money and JG was also our coach.
