I'm generally a fan of Prescott. I think he is an above average quarterback that is capable of leading the Cowboys to a Super Bowl. He is not perfect, but I think you can win with him.Macarthur said:Tksymm7 said:
Yeah, he would probably get raked over the coals if he was the cowboys QB. I think Herbert is leagues better than Dak, but you absolutely cannot lose that game. I expect this to be the first time Herbert takes some of the blame.
Why do you think this? And what does "leagues better" mean? A lot better?
Daks career passer rating is higher, BTW.
In regards to Herbert vs Dak. This is a great, and very interesting comparison of two very different (but both effective) quarterbacks.
I went to last years Cowboys-Chargers game in Los Angeles. I got to watch Herbert and Dak compete in a very close game that came down to the last play of the game.
Justin Herbert is without a doubt a 5 star football talent. Dak would be a 4 star in terms of strictly talent. Herbert was making throws that were incredible to watch in person. He was making a bunch of throws that Dak could not make.
I'm not sure if the TV really gives the viewers the perspective of how far and long Herbert can throw a football at a very high velocity.
So that means Herbert is "Worlds" better than Dak...right? Not quite.
You can have all the arm strength and talent in the world, but if the other quarterback is a better decision maker, better leader, and better clutch player then which quarterback do you really want?
There is no wrong answer.....its a matter of personal preference.
Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning are more talented than Tom Brady, but he counters that with all the intangibles.
That's how I see Dak vs Herbert. For all the arm talent that Herbert had, he still made a bunch of mistakes in the red zone.
He was only able to lead the Chargers to 17 points against the Cowboys.
Dak made the clutch throws and the clutch plays. He led his team to a tough road victory.
