A Monday night playoff game is a concept that absolutely should not exist. Fundamentally unfair to both teams. Losing at least one and possibly two recovery and preparation days relative to their opponent in the divisional round

This is the biggest joke of a schedule that I've ever seen by the NFL. Why have Monday night games in the playoffs??

Idk how you can watch the past 4+ weeks and think anything but that QB is our main issue right now.
Didnt realize the season was only the last 4 weeks

If Monday night games are fair before a playoff game, then why doesn't week 18 have a Monday night game? I'll tell you why - it isn't fair and they know it.

It's baffling how so many Cowboy fans hate their QB. Every football nerd I listen to thinks Dak is amazing. He's been getting better every year.

And news flash, EVERY qb has bad plays and bad games.

The run game has been bad the last few weeks. I think it's mostly due to the Steele and now Biaditz injuries. Today was just the most vanilla game plan I've ever seen. I dont recall a single boot action. There's a hundred things the coaches can do to jump start the offense and get Dak in rhythm. They clearly didn't want to plan for today and it showed.

I'm not a "we dem boyz" fan, but when your QB leads the league in INT after missing 5 games and then lays an egg the last week of the regular season, you're following the wrong nerds.

This makes no sense.

What's worst case? Meteor strike?

Dak continues to make tons of WTF throws. The book is out on how to attack this defense, and some of the key teams in the playoffs have offenses designed to run that book well. Pollard has cooled off - not sure if due to being dinged up (which we know he is) or defenses getting enough film to counter how Dallas has been using him this year.

I'm a sucker that is always hopeful about going on a run. But I can't say I feel good about this one

I think a lot (not all) of the wtf throws are due to the lack of separation by the receivers. The run game is on the makeshift OL and play calling imo. Ever since Steele went down the run game has really suffered. Moore needs to earn his paycheck this week.

Yeah, Steele and Biadasz injuries have really sent this OL into some turmoil. They've got experience replacing them, but almost too much experience. Long in the tooth

I saw the advanced stat a few weeks ago that Dallas' receivers are dead last in the league at separation. I think Dak Is making way too many tight window throws.

I don't want to excuse him too much because he's got to get better but there is a reason they were chasing OBJ and signed a 73 year old TY Hilton. Brown is an okay WR if he's your 4th or 5th option. The fact that he has been 2a or 2b is not good.

Still smh that they gave up Cooper for a 5th rounder. 1100 yard season.

Had the same record without him. If the Cowboys win next week.....did we really miss Amari all that much?

Going off measurables, the Amari trade was an unmitigated disaster. As someone else noted, our receivers had the lowest separation grade of any in the league. We chased OBJ and signed TY Hilton, because it was glaringly obvious that the WR position was a weakness. Meanwhile Amari is hitting 1000 yards and 9 TDs.

Maybe there was personality conflicts, locker room drama, Dak v Amari, or something like that. In that case, you do what you have to do. But just looking at football? Horrible decision

True. And I thought the offensive line was worse.

We were more than that under the cap and never spent that money. So it saved Jerry $25 mil, but it's not like we made the team better in another way with that money

If Noah Brown is your 2nd or 3rd option, yes he was missed. Makes Lamb's season even more impressive IMO.

True.

I think we gotta go WR high in the draft again. WR and CB are big needs.

It saved $20 million in cash and $16 million in cap space. Could have made it work. Or worst case you get a much better draft pick to address one of the many other needs they have.

This team got better by how they used Pollard and the development of Parsons, adding Sam Williams, Donovan Wilson emerging, etc. They got worse in other position groups like WR which offsets most of that other progress, when in reality they could have kept Cooper or at least gotten a much better asset for him

because NFL can make money by having a game monday.

and the way they looked yesterday, they need an extra day of work

I think the only way the Monday game might be an OK deal for us is if all the other wild card teams lose and we get to play Philly the following week (a team that we have already played twice and won't need as much prep for).

If we win Monday (on the road) and then have to travel to play SF in 5-6 days I think we are completely screwed!

The Rams played the Monday night game last year - and then played on Sunday afternoon. The 49ers played Sunday afternoon last year and then played Saturday night.

Virtually no chance a Monday team would play the following Saturday - they'd have less rest than any other team.

I would guess a 49ers/Cowboys matchup would be the Sunday late game.

Should do whatever we can to trade Dak. Guy is ass.

Who is tradable that is better?
I'll hang up and listen.

Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Tannehill, I would take Garoppolo and Purdy over Dak. He just needs to be average and he consistently falls short of that mark.
He has been below average two times this year. First game against TB and yesterday. The rest of the year has been good. I don't count the perfect throws that ended up as INTs against him.

I hope it's the case that they were going very vanilla for Wash. It's amazing to me how McCarthy has won 24 games in two years but if he can't pull out a win next week, his future could be in question.

It was very preseason-esque

We won't know if that was by design (limit game film) or necessity (due to O-line shuffle) until Monday night.
