Bland got picked on pretty badly when Lewis was out vs Washington, although he did get the late INT. It was his first extensive PT so I wouldn't go too harshly on him, but I think it's optimistic to assume he can just step in for Lewis with no slippage.

My guess is they go big vs Chicago but they've either got to get Bland, Joseph or even Wright playing solid ball, or go get help from a vet. With Joseph and Wright not having really shown a whole lot to this point, I think they have to at least go get a depth CB as insurance against further injuries.

Anyone know how many more times this year the Cowboys won't be televised in College Station? Freakin ridiculous that it's happened twice already. My in laws live up in Dallas I can just time my visits to them based on those weekends.

Just look for weekends when the Texans and Cowboys play at the same time on the same network.

That was about the only thing this D lacked... a big beefy guy that consumes blocks and can't be moved easily. I hope Hankins can ball out with the talent he'll have around him!

Now, Cowboys, if you are super serious about making a run... you need to go get a bad ass WR! Go out and get somebody that is CD caliber (top 15-20ish WR) and this team can go places!


EDIT: Looks like we give them a 6th rounder this year and we get their 7th rounder in 2024 draft. That's pretty cheap for a vet that might be the key piece you needed.

I'll be curious to see when and how much Hankins will play. Do we see him just in short yardage/obvious running spots? Do we see him more in general? I am glad they went out and got better at stopping the run though.

When the Giants and Eagles are run first team, it's no coincidence they made this move. I see no reason why he doesn't play Sunday against the Bears.

Yeah, no doubt this is in response to our division being run heavy. I can honestly say I haven't watched him recently, but I would be pretty surprised if he can give you more than 20-25 snaps a game. Anyone think I'm way off here?

Still want to see them make a move for a playmaker on the outside (Jerry Jeudy or DJ Moore would be at the top of my list). Gallup is creating very little separation. Maybe he's still not fully recovered but other than 1 play, he's been a non-factor since coming back.

My guess would be about 25-33% of the defensive snaps. Depends on the flow of the game.

No way I'm giving that up for a 29 year old WR, no way. I'm not even giving them a 2nd.

Cooks would be a fine addition, but not at the wrong price.

We gave Coop up for a 5th rounder. That's about where my threshold is. I'm not 100% convince another WR in the room would make much of a difference. If you really get in a bind you can use Turpin.

I think getting a true slot receiver would be nice, but not necessary. Dak likes to check it down underneath a lot, i.e. Shultz. So getting someone to work all of the short underneath routes with good tight area quickness would be nice. But it's not a must imo.

James Washington impressed nobody in training camp. He's a bust and we won't get anything out of him just like Pittsburg couldn't.

Lamb is a really good WR (not great/elite). Gallup has not looked great coming off his injury and Brown is working his ass off and overachieving the best he can.

Our offense will remain very inconsistent and frustrating all year long if we don't get another WR that the defense at least somewhat fears.

WR names I've seen thrown out there as possible trade targets:

Jerry Jeudy
Chase Claypool (just don't see him being moved)
Denzel Mims
DJ Moore

Jeudy or Moore would be intriguing.

Denzel Mims is the one that interests me. I think he has some upside and wouldn't cost anything more than a 5th or a 4th round pick.

I also find it hard to believe that the Broncos would trade Jeudy. I know that they are having a terrible season and he hasn't lived up to his draft position, but punting now with all that they have invested in the team would be a MAJOR setback. I also think that all they need to do to get better is fire Hackett. He's so bad he should've already been fired.

That's too cheap. Bears should've got a 2nd or at least a 3rd in my opinion. Not long ago Quinn had something like 18 sacks in a season.

Oh well…..should make bears easier to beat this week I guess.

32 years old is probably the main reason. He's also a relatively one dimensional player at this point in his career. It's a good dimension, but he's relatively limited.

I was reading up on Mims and came across this article from Mike Fisher. Apparently, in the preseason, the Cowboys were in conversations about acquiring Mims for a 5th round conditional that would become a 4th if Mims gained 500 yards with the new team. Cowboys didn't want to pay it. Seems like it was a cheap price.

Sounds like Gallimore is on the way out. He apparently fell out of favor during the offseaon/training camp. He was inactive last week and now we trade for a Vet DT. Also hearing he removed all Cowboys stuff from his Twitter.

Most likely he was told they are trying to trade him.
