Evans in the 3rd round seems to make more and more sense. We HAVE to get a corner with this second round selection.
I need laugh and then cry emoticons for this.Orlando Ayala Cant Read said:
At this point he just needs to lay of the weed and start to be an upgrade at the position.

Why would they get this guy when Watt was on the board? ****ing Cowboys gonna Cowboy
This is what I'm kind of afraid of. We've got a ways to go until we're selecting. We need a corner quite badly.jr15aggie said:
FYI, the trend continues... who Dallas brings into their official visit/workouts is a strong indication of who they are targeting. Taco was in that group (as was Harris, Tak, Adoree Jackson, & White... all of which were taken before the Cowboys).
It's no secret the Cowboys are getting a DB (specifically a CB) with their 2nd pick and there are a BUNCH still left. Here are the top guys that are still available AND were part of Dallas's 30 visits:
Chidobe Awuzie
Kevin King
Fabian Moreau
Jalen "Teez" Tabor
Cordrea Tankersley
Quincy Wilson
So if you want your "draft guide" for round 2, that's it! All of those guys are projected 1st/2nd round CBs and we've got 6 left. Keep an eye on those names and pray that we don't see 4 of them gone in the first dozen picks in round 2. If that happens Dallas is gonna have to come up.
100% agree. We cannot afford a red-shirt year 2nd rounder again. It's honestly wide open where Sidney goes though. It's a little different than Jaylon Smith because Jaylon was a lock for the top 10 / top 5 pre-injury. Sydney was a middle/late 1st rounder so I'm told.jtstanley4621 said:
He will likely be there when we're picking but I would HATE to get Sidney Jones, that CB from Washington that tore his Achilles tendon. He may very well recover and go on to have a very good NFL career, but we can't get someone in the second round who is going to not see the field for maybe a season for a SECOND consecutive season. We need a day 1 starter at either corner or safety.
Kevin Pup Smith coulda been one of the great ones. He blew that achilles and was never the same.DannyDuberstein said:
an achilles injury with a CB is a deal-breaker for me, regardless of a return timeline.
Watt might have the highest ceiling of the ends available but Taco has the highest floor. Stephen said Taco had a high 2nd round grade and the only other player left on their board with a 1st round grade was a RB (guessing Joe Mixon). They tried to trade down but failed and played it safe with Taco. He'll be solid.BassCowboy33 said:jr15aggie said:TheCougarHunter said:
Cowboys should have gotten watt
I said it earlier... Watt has never... Ever ever ever... Played with his hand on the ground. He was a long shot to end up here.
I was leaning DB... We are very thin here... But Taco is a stud. The cowboys obviously felt good about DBs I the next rounds. We'll see.
Watt definitely has the higher upside of the two. With Charlton, you know you're getting a rotation guy who could get 5-6 sacks a year as his career progresses. I'm not a risky drafter, but I would have moved to a cornerback. Dallas was blind-sided when Takk wasn't available.
Cowboys don't have a 5th round pick because of Matt Cassell.Quote:

Yes, I was waiting for Rick Flair to run in from off stage and smash his grandma's picture over Goodell's head and start a WWE brawl. That was such a weird reaction.jr15aggie said:

Watch that video... great well spoken kid. Definitely a JG kind of guy. And while it may not mean anything when it comes to on the field production, for me personally it means something to have a guy like this (a professional) vs. Tak who was all over the place dropping F bombs on national TV and then, instead of sincerely apologizing, he says, "fine me later, FINE ME LATER!!!".
I gotta think the Falcons had a brief moment of, "what did we just do"! Haha.

Interesting, we could have picked a cb or safety last night then trade for Sheldon Richardson today for a 4th round pick. He must be a serious head case for the Jets to dump him though.
