When people were putting Biden stickers on gas tanks back in 2021-2022, anyone else remember the gas station workers b****ing and moaning how it was destructive and they had to clean them up every single night?

Guess things change when you support the stickers...

remember? everyone that doesn't subscribe to the left-right paradigm ought to remember.

yet where are these ???

Here's the one.

Just need to say I love the Kamala one.

I have never seen a more perfect sticker, ever.

The Trump administration has already proven that they can lower gas very quickly, but of course, this war keeps the gas prices higher at times than we would like, but at end of the day, they're still a lot cheaper than they were under Biden.

If they can lower them quickly do you care to elaborate why they are not doing it? This increase in high gas prices is getting fairly prolonged.

Did we ever get an answer on docb question?

Seems crazy to me than Trump can quickly lower prices, but choose not to!

And, again, WTI is sitting essentially right where it was (mid-80's) when Peepaw was 'leading' Trump in 2024 (April-July) before dropping out and then Kamala was 'surging' to a big lead.

But after the Trump administration ramped up production domestically to an all time record last year (and in VZ) folks on the left can't afford to fill up their trucks.

What were the gas prices at that same price point, previously?

Not a single regular person out there gives a flying **** about the price of WTI. Not one. They don't see that when they drive by their local gas station. All they see is the price of a gallon of gas.

Since that's what the OP was opining on....a gallon of gas....that's the only thing we should be talking about.

As someone in the oil business, I can promise you the gasoline and other motor fuels like diesel will be a direct reflection of where crude oil like WTI is, Nortex is just showing where crude was at the time. Some may not understand that but if I have time I'll look up gasoline and diesel at those times, they will be the same price point. It's just easier to find crude price data. Refiners can't just throw numbers out there, those gasoline prices will be very similar

I understand that, but as has been shown lately, they aren't always where they "should be" as to the price of crude.

This is simply false. If Iran got a nuke and then summarily used it on Tel Aviv, we'd all be paying a price/gallon that would make even Obama smile.

this would never happen and it's ludicrous to think it would.

Thanks Trump.

Exactly. People who don't understand that the price of a gallon of gas in Texas correlates incredibly tightly with WTI I don't care to try to 'reason' with. It's so obvious it is hilarious some don't understand it, but democrats...

Yep… anyone in the business knows these fuel numbers vs crude will always track together. Excellent example. I'm not saying the refiners make a little extra cash now and then but it's not for long or they will lose product sales quickly… there's a reason fuel distributors exist, they can bounce pricing off of different refining suppliers and take the best price.. highest price gets to sit on his product !

The nation's average price of gasoline has fallen 0.8 cents over the last week and stands at $4.05 per gallon, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 12 million individual price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country. The national average is up 28.5 cents from a month ago and is 93.6 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel rose 7.1cents in the last week and stands at $5.326 per gallon.
"Average gasoline prices were a mixed bag across the country last week as oil markets went on a wild ride, surging on geopolitical tensions before pulling back Sunday night after President Trump signaled a potential deal may be in the works," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. "However, even as oil prices ease on deal optimism, continued Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil infrastructure are driving refined product prices higher as output plummets, keeping upward pressure on what Americans pay at the pump. By later this week, the national average could reach its highest level ever recorded for this point in the calendar year, a sobering milestone even as prices remain well below the all-time record set in 2022. Motorists should keep a close eye on developments both in the Middle East and in Ukraine, as either front could quickly shift the outlook."

It impacts everything. On my contracts, I hold pricing for 14 days. One of my commercial jobs just repriced $32,000 MORE than it was originally bid. Why? Because that was in February. We've since had 4 price increases of 7-12% across the board, plus fuel surcharges, plus my fuel costs are figured in....it's costing people everywhere more than just at the pump. We are global economy, anything that requires any portion of the product to be transported using fuel is going to see a price increase.

As I said before, this was completely unnecessary, could have been left the f--- alone, but nah....It's easy for me to sit and say "it doesn't impact me" because I just raise my prices to maintain profits, but I doubt most of America is getting raises to help compensate things like the cost of groceries and staples.

Not anymore it doesn't. The Trump administration has been holding up the latest aid package for months, and now we are no longer sending them patriot missiles. Ukraine has been pounding Russian oil infrastructure with in house made drones and and flamingo cruise missiles of their own design and manufacture. We were an unreliable partner. They got around that.

Any chance those prices come back down whenever it is our prices that move those goods come back down to pre Iran war levels?

Or are we going to be stuck with higher prices permanently now?

I cannot speak for those things, but I can speak for my materials and suppliers. Prices never went back to pre covid levels. For instance, plywood was 11 dollars per sheet before all of that, it was 75 dollars after that, and now it has settled back down to roughly 20 bucks a sheet for raw material.

Prices NEVER go back to 'pre' anything levels. Once they are up, it's a new normal so a slight decrease is considered cool. Think of it like marking up a TV 100% before giving a discount for Black Friday.

Sucks that prices are going to be bigger regardless, and they were just getting settled, even going down some, like gas prices, before Iran.

Accepting arguendo your theoretical position is correct, Americans concerned about gas prices should oppose supporting further aid and intelligence data to Kiev, as such aid helps Democrats/the leftists politically in the US.

Ipso facto, we are in agreement, as such. Americans who want cheaper oil/gas prices should absolutely vote for the GOP this cycle (and all others).
