You should have considered a Bugatti. That way you'd be "saving" millions instead of thousands.

Ok, how do we next criticize Teslas? I know! I have to replace the washer fluid more often because I clean frequently for the front camera. I also have little glasses cleaner wipe packets so I can clean the other cameras if need be.
In the "I'll never buy an EV" thread they stooped to "tire dust pollution" at one point
One of the most prolific posters on the anti EV thread is posting here now and is a Tesla fan boy now

Just pointing out bad math. After a cursory Google search, the average yearly fuel + maintenance savings enjoyed by owning a Tesla model 3 is $300-500.
You'd have to own the car for 20+ years to save "tens of thousands of dollars"

Thanks lilhorn. You're a ray of LED light from the EV dashboards on this thread.

You simply choose not to read my previous post with any kind of context didn't you. I said I saved tens of thousands of dollars by not choosing another commensurate SUV or pickup that I was looking at (sticker price), not that I'd be saving tens of thousands of dollars on gas alone. But, since we are on the topic, my current SUV ICE gas guzzler did cost me $400/mo in gas. Over a 5-yr time span, it actually does save me tens of thousands of dollars in fuel that I will not be spending moving forward. I know math is hard for you buddy, but you'll get there one day if you keep working at it.
I didn't buy a Rolls Royce. I saved a ton.PlaneCrashGuy said:NPH- said:PlaneCrashGuy said:NPH- said:PlaneCrashGuy said:

What you are failing to understand is that "I looked at some luxury SUV's and then bought a sedan to save money" is not materially different from "I looked at a sports car and bought a sedan to save money"
Using your absurd accounting method, you could have "saved" way more by simply "looking at" even more expensive vehicles.

What you are failing to realize is I understand the difference but literally proved you wrong in two seconds with the gas savings alone vs what I would have paid out of pocket with gas -AND- suv/pickup pricing. Let's take out the suv/pickup since you are getting stuck on that (bless your heart; you really are trying here); I could buy a commensurate ICE sedan and still blow it away in gas savings alone.
Try harder buddy; I know you are really trying to give it your all here.

I have no idea where you are getting your numbers unless they are using only commercial supercharging rates. Most charging is done at home which is a lot cheaper.
Assuming 12,000 miles per year
Average gas car gets 25-30 mpg
Average gas price $3.50/gal
Total annual cost $1,400-$1,680
Tesla
Based on cost of $0.04/kwh (night rates in parts of the country) to $0.16/kwh
Average 4 miles per kWh
Total cost $120-480
Fuel savings $920-1,560/yr
Maintenance savings reports are $500-1,000/yr but that is a lot more variable depending on what cars are being compared and individual results.
You have absolutely zero self awareness. Your contributions to threads like this are aggressive lack of knowledge and parroting stories without context, and when provided with context you turn to snark.techno-ag said:
