Is a ballistic missile even a realistic weapon to use to target an aircraft carrier? My understanding is it takes several minutes between launch and missile strike and I didn't think these missiles could correct course once theyre on a downward trajectory, thus the term ballistic missile. Couldn't the aircraft carrier just move? I also thought that Iran's ballistic missiles weren't exactly accurate.

This is showing how vulnerable we really are to ballistic missiles and drones. Big stationary targets like airfields are really really hard to defend. We've had several direct hits on the. Hopefully the personnel are well insulated. In the future I suspect we use far more drones and drone lancing platforms like planes and ships that can immediately leave the areas after launches not waiting for planes to return etc.

I may have missed it, but we usually know B-2's are about to engage because we can see them take off from their base in the the US. Were they forward deployed? I didn't know we deployed the B-2, at all. I thought we always launched from the US and just fueled in the air for a round trip to the target.
