Which clowns? The clowns in the press or the White House clowns who can't manage operational security?
The one that had an operational security issue that had zero effect on operations itself, and in which all military objectives were achieved with zero casualties?
Or the one that had no operational security issues (that we know of), but the operation itself unnecessarily resulted in 13 US casualties, 75 US wounded, and over 170 civilian casualties?
We can do this all day.
Because an app that can run on any iPhone is not a secure communications platform. It might as well be on a server in Hillary's basement.AgDad121619 said:havent read this thread so maybe this has been discussed - why was an Atlantic editor email address even available to be included?jrdaustin said:Which White House?torrid said:FrioAg 00 said:

From an interview Walz gave to Laura Ingraham, he had been shared a contact of a senior level official in which Goldberg's number was apparently attached to that person's contact information.AgDad121619 said:havent read this thread so maybe this has been discussed - why was an Atlantic editor email address even available to be included?jrdaustin said:Which White House?torrid said:FrioAg 00 said:

I'd prefer we not, it's exhausting but VERY telling that this story continues to drag on as it's literally the ONLY thing Democrats have at this point. They have nothing to sell that's new and certainly nothing good to sell in terms of their track record. This is it so they will squeeze every last drop of it they can.jrdaustin said:Which White House?torrid said:FrioAg 00 said:

As for the first question, my guess is that they wouldn't know. I don't know if they see a contact name when it is added by someone, or if they see a phone number if they don't have the same contact.dg77ag said:
So if the phone number of the journalist was added to the contact card of someone they wanted on the chat, how would anyone on the chat know that this journalist was on the chat if all they could see was the contact names, and my second question is wouldn't the journalist have to have Signal loaded already on his phone in order to successfully enter this VPN secure encrypted call
Yes. The journalist had Signal on his phone. If he didn't change his profile picture, the initials for first and last name are displayed.dg77ag said:

That's a dubious connection at best.

They should have their own end to end encryption tools that do secure communications.... but I expect nothing from any government in terms of security.
Quote:
Israel provided sensitive intelligence from a human source in Yemen on a key Houthi military operative targeted in an attack described by national security adviser Mike Waltz in a Signal chat with senior Trump officials, two U.S. officials said.
Shortly after the U.S. strikes began, Waltz texted that a key target of the attacks, a Houthi missile expert, had been seen entering his girlfriend's building, which he said had been destroyed.
Israeli officials complained privately to U.S. officials that Waltz's texts became public, one U.S. official said.
Israel's role in supplying information that helped track the militant highlights the sensitivity of some disclosures in the texts and raises questions about the Trump administration's contention that no classified information was shared on the Signal chat, a publicly available nongovernmental app.
