There are federal laws against rioting, arson, assault etc. Most Federal LE is not restricted to geographic jurisdiction and can enforce federal, as well as state and local laws. Many states also give many federal agencies statutory state powers.

Property owners in/around areas where violent protests are being allowed should have some grounds for civil rights lawsuits against cities/states on equal protection grounds, right?

If sympathetic DA's throw up their hands because the violent ones hide behind "protesters" and then run off, but keep getting re-elected, people that disagree need to vote with their feet.

To say that all protestors in Portland are violent and should be denied their civil rights to assemble is not a fair assessment. You may not agree with their reasons to protest, but it is their right to assemble and ask for redress. This reeks of the same hypocrisy from Lafayette Square.
