Is the dips*** Portland Mayor going to allow the Portland Police to work alongside federal officers now? That would be a flip-flop. For the city council as well.
I get the feeling each side is expecting something different from the other side than what is planned. This not likely to work out, IMO.
Agree. No one appears to be on the same page at all. But because of the stupid governor's tweet, the rioters think the feds have gone and they can take the courthouse tonight.

Tonight could be nasty.

I think the LEOs are on the same page, it's the Propaganda Ministry of the Democrat Party that is making crap up.

Yeah, about that. How about you stick it where the sun don't shine.

They should rethink this idea. The fed could in return charge the city for the hours and hazard pay for the LEO's that had to be put in place because the city wasn't controlling the situation not to mention the cost of repairs that will be needed after this is all said and done.

Barr was listing the number and manner of injuries to federal LEOs yesterday. What happens when city PD, sheriff's department and state police ranks are thinned by such injuries? Maybe a Blue Flu as they refuse to put themselves in dangerous situations?

How many other nearby law enforcement departments will send their people in to help?

That's the risk.
Exactly. If the lynch mobs decide to try and burn the federal courthouse (which I suspect will happen in some measure) then the locals will accede to lynch mob demands. If I am a suburban or rural agency, why would I send officers or deputies into such a no-win situation?

Time to bring back militias...

Andy Ngo sustained a brain injury when 'peaceful' protesters threw a cement milkshake at his head last year in Portland. They are VILE, dangerous people.

Apparently, before dawn today, the Portland PD and Oregon State Police finally cleaned out the park across the street from the Justice Center where the nightly rioters were living and staging from.

Which of course is something they could have done 60 days ago.

Anyone watching the stream? Two women are having a shouting contest. Can't tell who is yelling for what...

I think it is like Marco Polo, when someone yells 'Marco' you have to answer.

Someone yells BLM and then people all stop talking and have to repeat it...

Meanwhile, in NE Portland, KOIN reports someone fired 150 rounds which struck 8 apartments, 7 vehicles and wounded 1 woman. I say this seriously: this city is infested with spiritual forces of darkness.

When it comes to setting the record straight on the anarchy and destruction happening in Portland, U.S. Attorney Billy Williams is not messing around.

Williams, who is the chief federal law enforcement official for Oregon, recently gave an interview outside Portland's battered Mark O. Hatfield federal courthouse where he took the wind out of the sails of a few reporters who had an angle to push.

The video of the interview, which I've linked below, is worth watching in its entirety. Here are some of the highlights:

When he was asked by one reporter what it was going to take to "turn the tide" in Portland, Williams made it clear that it wasn't up to law enforcement to come up with the solution to end the violence. Instead, he said, it was up to the community:
Quote:

WILLIAMS: Yeah, so what I think it's gonna take, this has to be a community solution. It's not a law enforcement solution, we're responding, dealing with it, protecting this property just like the city police are protecting city property, but any real solution to stop the mindless violence that goes on has to come from the community, and I include various community leaders, faith leaders, business leaders working with whoever wants to join in a coalition whatever you want to call that, the coalition of the willing, whatever.

Quote:

This led to a back and forth exchange between Williams and the reporter where it became clear the reporter was attempting to paint a picture of federal overreach, which is a common talking point used by Democrats:
Quote:

WILLIAMS: Yeah, the federal agents being here are protecting federal property, that is not accurate. Blaming federal agents for protecting federal property is an easy out for people who want to politicize this.
REPORTER 2: But are they protecting federal property when they're out on the streets?
WILLIAMS: They're not out on the streets, okay?
REPORTER 2: They were last night. They were out on the streets there's video of them outside of the fence we've seen them out on the streets.
WILLIAMS: Okay, so we can review what took them out there, but again, this is such an easy political out for people who want to politicize what's going on.

Much more respect for Billy Williams after that interview. Decreasing respect (if that is possible) for the swinish media who attempted to put words in his mouth. These people are despicable and he called them out.

Excellent post and link.

Unfortunately, I do not expect this community to listen. Again, it's the Democratic Party leadership aided and abetted by MSM that fuels the fires.

I hope I am wrong but I believe it will get worse, much worse in Portland and Seattle. There seems little indication the population in those cities understand the catastrophic implications of their political choices.

You are likely correct. After the Detroit riots in 1966 (IIRC) the trust in the police and local authorities to protect the city's citizens was shattered. They left in droves and Detroit never fully recovered.

Seattle and Portland will lose a lot of businesses that will not return. Nor will the workers/consumers to support those businesses.
