Just finished. Based on that last part with Jace and the Queen. They are going to look for other dragon riders.

I have a guess. That one character they keep showing in Kings landing must have Targ blood.

The other guy who was claiming to be a Targaryen ******* is also in King's Landing, I assume, since Aegon comes barging into that tavern

The book thread is on page 2 of this board. Pretty slow this season though

Enjoyed most of the episode. Didn't need to see Daemon knocking boots with his mom or Aegon's armor getting ripped off his skin.

This is the World of Westeros. Your options are seeing incest or seeing cock. I'll take incest.

It finally dawned on me why the crazy witch in Harrenhal looked so familiar. She was Sheila the she wolf in GLOW.

That last scene with Daemon...I can't even be sure it was real and not another crazy dream. His dead wife did show up, after all... Anyway, how dumb is that one guy from the feuding family to use the Targ banners after Daemon basically told him it can't be connected to the Queen?

So we are going to get a bunch of randos riding dragons soon. probably. Does anyone remember who the woman was that Rhaenyra's servant went to see? Someone from season 1?

So, this show is about 2 women fighting for power they want or deserve, and at every step they are getting pushed to the back by men. I mean, that is the history of the world until about 50 years ago, but it feels like HBO is really leaning into the idea of dumb old men being chauvinists. Even the crazy girl was whining to Daemon about it. Maybe that's how Martin wrote the story, idk.

Finally, Cole is such a ****. He is trying to act all remorseful for all his bullsh-t, but nobody gives a crap, and I think that's hilarious.

Are you talking about the light haired blacksmith?

I don't think the blacksmith is the guy who claimed to be a Targaryen *******. The blacksmith is just meant to represent the plight of the common people.

They are definitely 2 different people. They have spent so much time on the blacksmith, though. The plight of the little people is pointless to keep showing unless there is an actual plot reason that is paid off later.

Unless you are a bookreader who knows more, in which case get the hell off the thread, the blacksmith has light blond hair for a reason I would think.

The women haven't exactly been playing the best game, either. I mean they ***** about being left on the sidelines, but then every time they have a chance to end the war, they puss out. Rhaenys could have burned Team Green and didn't. Alicent could have had Rhaenyra killed at the Sept and didn't. Rhaenyra had basically sat on her hands the whole time. The show seems to be making it like the men are too quick to act, but in reality, it's the women could have ended the war with the least blood spilt, but they are to timid to act.

Cersei would have had all the women killed by now, and would still have time to bed at least three Lannister relatives.

I am only two chapters into the book, but I don't think the blacksmith has white hair. His hair is more golden blonde, like a Lannister.

I think the plot reason is that it shows that the King doesn't care about them and eventually they'll rise up. Remember, the comment about not discounting the little people. There are a thousand thousand of them in King's Landing. They could easily riot and over throw the King. I don't think that line was just randomly thrown in.

Loved the final scene between Rhaenyra and Jace, and what it means going forward. Just some great chemistry between the two of them. In fact, I'm really starting to like Jace more and more as a character, which probably means he's about die...

When she was saying that the blood would be diluted, I half expected Jace to comment that his blood is diluted (showing he knows who his father is) and it didn't prevent him from gaining a dragon.

Yep, anytime a character takes a step forward in personal development they are about to die. This is so

I have been very disappointed in Daemon this season. It's like he got neutered or something. In season one, he had no issue taking a dude's head. This year, he seems afraid to do anything. I get that he didn't want to burn the entire army, but to let everyone walk at the beginning of the episode was stupid. At least he should have had his dragon eat the leader and then seen what the next in line says.

In fact, I would say the dragons are far less intimidating than I would expect. Outside of last week's battle, no one seems to really be all that afraid of them.

To your dragon point. They're afraid but both sides have them. Also, they're accustomed to seeing them but not having them used. In GOT, no one had seen them, just heard stories.

The blacksmith is the one who referred to the dragon head/dragons as nothing more than meat right? It would be pretty wild if the peasantry revolted and raided the dragon pits in desperation to stave off starvation.

The parallels with the Cold War and the nuclear arms race are interesting. As long as both sides have dragon parity, there is at least a sort of uneasy balance. The rest of the Houses recognize this. But Rhaenyra is about to upset the balance by making more nuclear weapons, essentially. Fascinating!

Yeah, he's probably going to lead a revolt. No idea who's going to be a new dragon rider.

It's funny how all the kids on team black have their **** together.

And all the kids on team green are F-ups pretty much. Must be bc of old man spunk.

King's Landing revolt is coming. They have been setting that up all season.

Jace is impressive. He treated with both the Starks and Freys successfully. He is also able to communicate with Rhaenyra in a way no one else can.

It's amazing that anyone in Westeros wants Harrenhal. It's a cursed money pit by all accounts.

In canon it's been 130 years since the last battlefield mass slaughter by dragonfire and 90 years since the last dragon on dragon fight. I think people aren't really aware of their power except for Criston who, despite being a grizzled veteran by Westerosi standards, has clear PTSD about seeing his men get toasted by dragonfire.

This. They kind of showed a quick glimpse in the preview for next week, but nothing concrete that gives anything away. In ep 5, the woman going to Kings Landing on behalf of Team Black and Mysaria was about to stir some **** up among the common folk when she knocked on that door and the girl that was working the tavern that Aegon had impregnated once upon a time answered. Wonder how the people of kings landing will fare if they do revolt? It could certainly slow down the plans of team green

Haven't the Frey's always been known as a house that will go against its word? Or was that strictly when Walder Frey was in charge?

Just wondering if we have to worry that the Freys will go back on their commitment to Rhaenyra.

From what I remember from Game of Thrones, it was mostly Old Man Walder that was disgruntled and willing to cozy up to whoever gave him the sweetest deals. In general, the Frey house just used their position at the Twins to make themselves more important than they really were. I do not get the sense that the 2 shown last night are as back-stabby as Walder

Lots of setup in this one:

Corlys is mourning, but will soon take action.
Daemon can't get the Riverlands under control.
Mysaria is leaning into her strengths, and teaching Rhaenyra about psy ops.
Aemond's lust for the throne has been quenched (for now.)
Rhaena has work to do. Lady Jeyne Arryn is a peach.
Alicent has no one on her side. Wonder what Otto is up to?
Hugh has long blonde hair and maybe the blood of Ol' Valyria.
Ser Alfred is on the move to help raise an army (and out of Rhaenyra's hair.)

Agreed. These Freys just wanted to leverage their position and get more land (Harrenhal.)
