I thought it was a great season, but definitely agree that it's a bit of a filler season. But for Daemon in particular.
There was some huge game-changing events for sure. I think the thing that threw everyone for a loop is the fact that the big major battle episode that is usually the penultimate episode, happened in episode 4, so it feels weird to us.
The interesting thing now is whether we're going 3 seasons or 4. Cause it feels like the runway is starting to run out a bit.
My guess it we get two more 8 episode seasons, or possibly 6.
I think the board is basically set at this point for the endgame.

So alicent is going to let Rhaenyra take kings landing in 3 days? Yeah for some reason I don't see that happening considering that could be one more episode and done, not an entire season. lame!

All on the assumption Aemond would be defeated/killed.
In the post show feature the writers tried to sell that Diamonds story and visions in Harrenhall all set up him to believe himself to not be a main player with the last vision of White Walkers. Anyone agree with them? I thought most of his story this season was a waste of time.

Larys is running off with the king to protect him. Aemond had instructed Him to go get Otto to be the hand of the king. Obviously he did not do that one and instead had him captured.
Larys having him definitely makes the most sense. But that was just such a random way to show that he's been captured.
I think my favorite scene was between Aemond and Haelena. Someone said something about him being hard to look at. He is especially so when he's being smug, has a Joker quality to his face. That scene, though, when he's getting knocked down a little by her, it's such a different look on his face and I thought they both pulled it off pretty expertly.
Second favorite was Daemon and Rhaenyra. They have pretty good chemistry together, it's a shame they spent most of the season apart.
Things I didn't like: Rhaena running around the Scottish highlands. We all know she's probably gonna tame that dragon, just cut the running around and nearly freezing crap, and give us the moment. Yell some High Valyrion and whip the dragon down. Now, we're likely to get that happening off screen as she shows up to help her dad in the Riverlands.
Essos stuff was just weird. Reminded me of the time Bjorn went to the Mediterranean on Vikings.
Needed some more actual action this season. One major fight, one twin fight, and an off screen battle. Jace needs more to do, as well.
Oh, and finally...no one still gives a crap about your moral dilemma, Cole.

The sequence when Daemon touched the heart tree was money. The comet, Dany, BLOODRAVEN!!!, WWs… super cool visions but then I remembered GoT finale.

I did like Daemon's arc this season. But it definitely felt like a 2-3 episode arc at most, which was stretched to a full season.

I get irrationally angry anytime the Song of Ice and Fire prophecy is discussed or hinted at in the show. It cheapens how big of a deal they make it when we know how terribly it ends in GOT season 8.
Was the scene with Corlys and his illegitimate son odd in regards to the cinematography. The blur they rendered was really poor. It was so bad it was distracting.
I noticed that. Especially lower left part of the screen, it seemed. Thought maybe it was some weird buffering issue for us.
It happened at another point, I cant remember when though. Must just be an app thing

This was clearly a two season series that, after the popularity of season one, HBO said "let's milk this mofo as long as we can"!
What a turd of a season. Can't believe they spent so much useless time on Daemon and then wasted airtime introducing this stupid ass captain girl that no one cares about.
