1. This was a really good episode.

2. Hugh is not turning coat to fight for the green. Especially after his daughter's death.

3. Aemond is no longer the bully of King's Landing. He and Vhagar will have to contend with the other dragons and dragon riders, especially Vermithor.

What's the name of the girl in the Vale? Rhaena?

Does it look like she's off to claim a dragon of her own there? Which dragon is left that hasn't been claimed?

It's a feral dragon unlike the ones at Dragonstone which had riders previously

Dragon to be named later. I predict Rhaenax.

Are we allowed to talk about Hugh's mom? Figured out who she was based on the family tree posted earlier in the thread.

That would fall into book spoilers, outside the show spoilers I would say.

I don't know who it is, but someone earlier in the thread suggested she was a legitimate Targaryen, but I don't think that can be the case since she was working in a brothel.

Like HL Hunt's kids, some have been known to go astray. Targs are no different.

They've always had sexual promiscuity - look at Rhaenyra for example. Or Daenerys lol

Even Viscerys was banging his cousin or niece or whatever she was.

The behind-the-scenes featurette at the end of the episode made it sound like she was basically planning to end her life. But then when she saw the dragon flying high above, she was moved or took it as a sign or something, and now has some kind of renewed motivation, though they purposely teased/left it vague as to what. I kind of zoned out for that whole thread, and didn't really get any of that, but that's apparently the gist.

Rhaena:

"Y'all little kids be careful on the way to Pentos with the hired help. I'mma claim this wild dragon."

Aside from that weird deviation, this was a pretty good episode.

Daemon's scene with Viserys was very good. Paddy steals the scene as a haunting dead brother.

Daemon getting punked by the Tully kid was hilarious. I think he's finally coming to the conclusion that he was never cut out to be king

This was my favorite part of the season so far

Agreed. It's a shame Paddy was never considered for an Emmy.

Fun episode. My notes..

There is no way Daemon and the gold cloaks would allow all those targ *******s to leave KL. Just line up some crossbowmen or his dragon and tear them all down. Team black was not subtle trying to get the message out so there seems to be no way that the Red Keep didn't get wind of this mass exodus just outside the walls.

Alicent-- mmkay she is just kind of roaming. I get she is bummed but I would expect her to return to Old Towne or something- not just float around a lake and go camping.

Silverwing- I thought for sure she was gonna get shot down by a scorpion with Ulf flying her around KL. I do like this Ulf guy though he seems pretty funny and one heck of an actor. Loved his peer pressure scene in the pub.

It's not really a book spoiler. His lineage isn't discussed in the book, he's just a "dragonseed of dragonstone". Being that closely related to Viserys and Daemon is a show creation.

Not sure if this is a good time and it's just scattershooting but it seems the dragons can only shoot fire in a straight
line (yes I meant to say scattershooting)

So their line of fire, so to speak, is fairly narrow and not really suited to take out mass targets. Seems that if they could spray fire, they could easily take out armies or at least groups. This has been apparent in the dragon attack scenes.

Couldn't they train dragons to spray fire?

Also, what is the range of the fire? Be nice to cough up some flames out of range of the scorpions and let them rain on armies.

Watching a dragon go down is almost as bad as watching a dog die on a show…

Not really a spoiler, cause like you said is not mentioned in the books, but according to screen crush video, he said that his mother was an illegitimate daughter of king jaeharys (so half sister to Daemon and Viserys), Hugh says "my mother told me i was no different than her brothers Daemon and Viserys"

what he said was "my mother told me I was no different than her brother's sons Daemon and Viserys." - her brother was Baelon the Brave, father of Viserys and Daemon, who died before Jaehaerys.

That means that unless the mother was an illegitimate child of Jaehaerys - which is unlikely given Jaehaerys's character - she was either Saera, Gael, or Viserra. Given that Saera was the one who ran away from home and became a famous courtesan, she's the most likely candidate.

My apologies. I just went back and checked and it is, in fact, an eagle. I don't know where I got dragon from, but everything else I mentioned is still accurate, about Alicent seeing it and suddenly having a new purpose for some unexplained reason.

Yeah, that sounds dumb. It would have made more sense if she had seen a dragon and it gave her renewed purpose. I don't get why a bird would matter. Probably, that bird got eaten by Silverwing on Ulf's joyride.

legit bummed we are down to one episode. This series has been the best thing on tv since S1E1.

Some dragons breathe in a 60 foot line, some in a 30 ft or 90 ft cone. It depends on the age, color, or gaming rules. Such as Dungeons & Dragons or Pathfinder.
