The way I see it - the dragon claims the rider. If they weren't worthy, they wouldn't be claimed, regardless of social status.

To be honest I was fully expecting all three other dragons to come in and attack Vhagar from either side. That seemed like a perfect chance.

Knowing how his show usually operates, all signs are pointing to it, so she gets roasted.
I felt like this episode basically punted the next major dragon fight to next season.
Whatever major event we have in store for the finale seems like will only involve ground troops. I'm guessing the Lannister and Stark armies battle it out.

Good episode. I also thought the the last guy was on a joyride.
The other thing that confused me was Jace saying Rhaenyra would strip him of his dragon. I don't think he meant literally, but I might have missed something she said right before it. Was he just pissed that he wasn't going to be the only b-stard with a dragon anymore?
I also loved Rhaenyra's boss mode on Vermithor.

So we find out Hugh is a grandson of King Jaehaerys, who was the first rider of Vermithor, and Talk of Thrones mentioned Queen Alysanne (Jaehaerys' wife) was the first rider of Silverwings. Since Silverwings paired with Ulf, are they hinting at Hugh and Ulf being brothers? Maybe I missed or completely forgot something in Ulf's backstory from earlier in the season
