Not sure how valid.. but saw the blurb on some facebook news page (Danny carey is from kansas)

"BREAKING NEWS: Billy Corgan, Tom Morello, and Danny Carey are forming a supergroup for Black Sabbath's final show.
The Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, and Rage Against The Machine members will play together due to their Chicago roots."

I like early Smashing Pumpkins, but Billy Corgan singing Black Sabbath just doesn't resonate with me. But maybe I'll change my mind once I hear it.

I didn't assume it was Billy for sure. Tom can sing too.

Guess it doesn't necessarily say they'll be playing Sabbath songs, but I agree that Corgan might not be the best one to sing if they do.

I feel like it's an arms race between Morello and Carey to see who can play in more bands.

It actually seems weird to think they'd open for sabbath and actually play sabbath songs. It's not a tribute show after all, just a sabbath show with a slew of openers.

Yea, I misread it as they were covering Black Sabbath songs. Going to assume that won't be the case since opening for them.

I'm going two weeks from tomorrow at the paramount in Denver.

I actually picked up their debut vol 1 at a record store back in the 90s when it came out. Crazy to think that this obscure cover band is still around and actually had sone radio success along the way.

I saw him last year in Raleigh, and he's worth a long drive or a flight. Played for almost three hours with no real breaks, great mix of new stuff, classics, and covers. I'll be seeing him at least once this year.

Was awesome! Man, Marty's band brings the energy, it was a lot of fun. Nikki and Patrick were great opening also, they were acoustic. Played mostly originals but also of course an Iron Maiden cover which was excellent. Won't spoil that for you just in case. Eddie Trunk was also in the house!

Was here for this as well. Really cool show and after seeing the Eagles several times before I can say The Sphere really added something to the show. Looking forward to seeing who else The Sphere gets in there moving forward.

Saw this last night. Group still sounds good musically and vocally. Sound system is miles beyond your typical stadium/arena. Great experience.
