For '80s music fans, Simple Minds just announced a U.S. tour with a Houston stop on May 31. Also on the bill are Soft Cell and Modern English. Should be a great show.
Wow, blast from the past. Haven't heard the name Soft Cell in ages! Would go.

interesting.. the link to denver paramount show from his website doesn't work (it's a dead TM page), and if you go to ticketmaster and search, it says no shows in my area (denver)

Sounds like they need to just fix that glitch.

I've seen Porcupine Tree about 5 times since 2003, but have never seen SW solo. I'm in.

I saw SW in Houston on his last tour. He was sick but still tore it up. Same band this time except for McStine.

Toyota center date went fast. I was furiously clicking after about 10 minutes waiting in line and couldn't get anything to the checkout stage. Had two lower level that I thought were going to stick and then the site crapped out on me and I had to refresh.

Keep at it! I didn't get through the queue until 12:40. Things keep popping in and out. I had a pit ticket at one point but wouldn't let me check out. I just kept waiting and clicking around and another one popped up and I nailed it. PIT GA for $166 total. HELLS YEAH!!!!!

As I look at the map right now there are face value tickets in the 108-110 sections still available.

Ticketmaster queues are an enigma. I clicked to join the waiting room at 11:59 and got right in after a few minutes in the queue. I ended up with floor seats on the center aisle for the Chicago show. My buddy tried at the same time and got shut out.

Whelp...I lied
Logged back in and there were a ton of tickets. Just had to click faster! Lower level for $150 each!

Yeah I've learned to never just look and bail. Patience and tenacity are key as people's carts time out and stuff gets put back in the pool.

Toyota Center uses Axs events which is a headache all it's own.

Dear Diary,

What an absolute pain in the dick it was to purchase tix. After waiting patiently in the queue on my computer's browser when it was my time to select tickets the system would keep saying those seats were no longer available & then refresh the inventory. After several attempts the system identified me as a bot and booted me back into the queue. This happened twice.

Finally I tried with the AXS app, but that just redirected me on my mobile browser to buy tickets. So I got the same "tickets selected no longer available" but now with the added annoyance of my fat fingers and little screen having difficulty selecting a pair of tickets.

I was able to finally secure 2 nose bleeds tickets.

P.S. Those convenient fees that tack on suck. Don't tell the folks on F16 diary, but I'd vote for a Democrat if they ran on getting rid of those fees

the fees aren't the problem.. they are a result of the real problem - no competition.

It's the most bi-partisan issue in human history and I'm pretty sure a bill actually passed yet nothing ever happened which is par for the course.

Also, AXS is even worse than Ticket******* I have recently discovered after the debacle of trying to get all three nights of Billy Strings at St Augustine, FL in April a couple of weeks ago.

Got wrong codes for pre-sale 3 day passes, relegated to single day obstructed view for two days in different spots, and then in the queue 45 minutes early for the public on-sale for night 3 only to find out they sold that night out completely in the pre-sale.

And the worst part is the one really reliable resale site, Cash or Trade, has now gone to complete **** since then and appears to have been bought by StubHub Beta.

Saw Tears for Fears w/ my daughter at Fontainebleau in Vegas last night. They played all 4 of their new songs from Songs for a Nervous Planet, and they swapped out songs from ELAHE that they played on their previous TIpping Point tour, so it was good to hear some different songs from the last time I saw them.

Just got tickets to see AC/DC at Jerryworld in April. I've been a huge AC/DC fan since I was a kid. My username literally says they are my favorite band. First time seeing them live, so I'll likely be in a state of shock on the day. Feels surreal.

I called and told my dad we were going and he asked if this was some sort of tribute band, lol. He can't believe it either.

man I guess I didn't realized they hadn't toured the US since 2016... and that was the stint with Axl right?

So Brian and Angus are the only legacy members still in it?

Brian stepped away after the US stint of that tour, I believe.

Cliff Williams and Phil Rudd are still listed, but they don't tour.

Your age compared to the band's aged makes me wonder, how many people's favorite bands are older than they are?

Not the members of the band, but the year the band formed (or even year of first release), compared to your age.

My favorite band is Metallica, and I was born in 1980, a year before they formed.

I'm 40 and my favorite band, by far, is Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band so I fall squarely into the category of the band releasing their first album before I was born. Greeting From Ashbury Park came out in 1972 and I was born in 1984.

When I was in school the popular bands were Hinder and Nickelback. Made being an AC/DC / classic rock fan instead pretty easy.

yeh that sucks.

I got first discover music in a ~3-4 year period which saw the black album and classics from the likes of PJ, AIC, Nirvana, STP, Soundgarden, NIN, Pantera, GnR, REM, RHCP

So it was easy to not have to look back.

This was exactly me as well. But that didn't stop me from ordering some Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, KISS, Rolling Stones, Beatles etc from Columbia House. Hard to say which genre I liked more. Mine or the 60's-70's.

Man I'm gonna be out of town for that red rocks date.

Great nostalgic lineup.

Spin doctors was my first concert; 1993 woodlands pavillion, with soul asylum and screaming trees.

Thanks for sharing .

My wife doesn't like live music unless it's very specific bands. Blue Traveler is one of those.

So for that New Braunfels date, are they going to be playing? I don't get the asterisks
