I'm jealous, wanted to catch them at Billy Bob's, but couldn't find anyone who wanted to go. My brother is catching them in San Antonio tonight.

Go by yourself!

Men at Work has a bigger collection than Christopher Cross and Toto for you? I would bet both would surprise you in their collection and be a very enjoyable concert for you. I've seen them both they are great.

Christopher Cross and Steve Lukather can both shred pretty well. It would be better than anticipated.

Maybe so. I just know a couple of their hits. I much prefer to spend my concert money on folks I cherish their entire collection. Like Michael Bolton.
cherish… or celebrate?

Made it back at 2 am last night from New Orleans after 3 nights of Billy Strings. Incredbile NYE run as usual.

I woke up on January 1st to about 10 different text messages from friends asking me if I was okay. I was like yeah I've never been better off after that thanks for asking and Happy New Year.

Had no idea about the attack until I got out of bed and I was actually still up when it happened. But we don't hit up Bourbon St on these Billy runs so we were marked safe.

Sucks big time for those affected. One of the 14 victims was there for the Billy shows as well and the band and crew had been staying in hotels surrounding the scene of the crime for the past several days.

My first show of '25 was Blue Oyster Cult on Saturday night, at We-Ko-Pa Casino in the Phoenix area. This band has always been a guilty pleasure of mine, since first seeing them in 1981 in Germany. Still includes two original members, Eric Bloom and Buck Dharma, supported by three longtime members (Richie Castellano, Danny Miranda, and Jules Radino). Eric & Buck sang most of their songs on their albums, so the band still sounds the same for the most part.

Because it was a casino show, it was shorter than usual, but many they sounded great. Played the three songs that are mandatory (Don't Fear the Reaper, Godzilla, and Burnin' for You), plus a bunch of other classic songs.

If you like this band my recommendation is to see them if you can. Bloom is 80 years old now, and Buck Dharma is 77, so I doubt they'll tour a whole lot longer.

Picked up a ticket for Wilco at WOMH for early May. Haven't seen them before so I am looking forward to it.

Yes they did, and I saw them a bunch as well. Think you bought tix from me for one show if I recall correctly! Would have been 2007ish I think. Their run in the 00's with Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, A Ghost is Born, Sky Blue Sky, and Wilco (album) was stellar!

We saw the Panhandlers last night. Kind of a "supergroup" of Josh Abbott, William Clark Green, John Baumann, and Cleto Cordero of Flatland Cavalry. I'm not a huge country fan, but I do kinda like the Red Dirt country. That said, we had a fantastic time and really enjoyed the show.

The Panhandlers had a song featured on Yellowstone.

Colin Hay has a ton of solo stuff and has toured pretty frequently over the last decade. I've seen him 3 times and can't recommend his shows enough.

Nada Surf would be a fun show. They had some great albums that (almost) nobody ever heard.

They are a great band, one of my favorites. However I've seen them live and have never seen Fontaines, so they win out.

The Plan, while a good one, was foiled. I nearly did the same thing. Thankfully more Fontaines D.C. tickets became available at one point.

I did manage to get a ticket for Ryan Adams at Heights Theater in May before it sold out. Haven't seen him play solo yet, so hopefully it happens.

Helmet is playing Scout Bar the same night as Cursive at White Oak on 2/22. Haven't been to that place in ages.

I saw Bricks in the Wall (Pink Floyd tribute band) last night at the Arlington Music Hall. Not your normal bar or tribute band. They've spent some serious time and dough on visuals, lasers, lights, etc. heck of a show.

Saw them on Saturday at HOB in Houston. Very fun show. Kinda cool seeing which parts of the crowd favored the individual artists. Big Flatland contingent that trended younger and the Josh Abbott crowd was mostly in their 30's. Had my first "damn I'm old" moment at a concert. We were in SRO and some zoomer bumped into me and profusely apologized saying "excuse me, sir. I'm so sorry for bumping into you sir" lol

I've seen them, they're not bad. They used to come down to Corpus Christi and you could get free tickets through HEB or somewhere.

But for my money the best Pink Floyd tribute/cover band is Brit Floyd. They travel internationally, will be at Red Rocks this summer (that show is already sold out), and and are also doing some dates with Alan Parsons.

We just got back from seeing the show Friday night. Incredible experience. They have a couple more months to go. If anyone is thinking of going, the show is not just on stage but the visuals. Dont sit in a seat with an obstructed view under an overhang. You would have a much better view at the top and back of the arena.

My buddy Chris Holt of over 20 years is now an official member of the Eagles for these Sphere shows. I saw some videos today from last night and he was shredding.

In just the past two years he's become a member of Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs, played with Bob Dylan at Farm Aid, and now this. Just wild. Hoping to get out there for one of these shows soon. Still haven't been to the Sphere.

Caught the Killers at Caesar's Colosseum in Vegas on Wednesday, the first night of their "encore" shows for the 20th anniversary of Hot Fuss. It was a fantastic show, the band was on fire, and the stage show was also pretty cool.

I don't know if the stage set is the same when they tour, or if it's unique for their hometown anniversary shows, but either way it was a great time and well worth going to see them if they come your way.
