guess I'm glad I saw oasis in 2006, at verizon wireless theater lol.

That's a big step up to go to a football stadium.

Surprised to see they only played Houston three times. Didn't even make a stop on the morning glory tour.

Saw Dropkick Murphys and Pennywise last night at The Factory in Deep Ellum. Fun show. A lot more middle aged people (including myself) at punk shows these days. The Chucks and fishnets have been replaced with sensible shoes and continuous glucose monitors, lol.

Eagles announced 4 more shows in Vegas in February. After seeing the videos from opening weekend at The Sphere I think I am going to try for the presale.

I'm not holding out a lot of hope that the Sturgill Simpson show in Asheville that I've got a ticket for is going to happen in a few weeks. Venue hasn't announced a cancellation yet, but they've cancelled or delayed every event they have surrounding that date.

Id say there's no way that that concert happens. Roads are still being cleared and lots of places are still without power and water, and timelines for restoration are still pretty uncertain

Yeah, still no official announcement, but people at the venue are saying it's not happening in October, and an announcement will be made soon. Sucks for me of course, but not unexpected. Super glad I'm getting to see him at ACL.

Anyone going to try for Oasis tickets next summer? I'm hoping to get in the presale to see the show at the Rose Bowl next September, always wanted to check out that stadium.
I checked it out in 2017 when the Aggies were up by 34 points and had the second biggest collapse in college football history. A very tall tree fell out of nowhere on our walk out of there about 10 yards behind us which seemed fitting.

If you go try to stay at the Langham Hotel. Stayed there for that game and again back in January when I was seeing moe. in LA. Place is incredible.

Haven't been to a concert there but have watched Depeche Mode 101 many times and it looks like quite the scene.

Thanks for the hotel recommendation! Was able to get 4 tickets, we're way up in the section but the prices were pretty reasonable!

Loved it. I'm a huge Rival Sons fan and they were amazing. I'm way late to the Cliutch universe so this was my first time seeing them. They were great but I don't know that music that well yet. Definitely high energy. Neil Fallon amuses me. His voice is so unique and he looks like he should be teaching Earth Scoence to the slow kids in HS yet he's a really good frontman.

Imagine Dragons last night in Phoenix. Wife's a big fan, and it ended being a very good show (despite it being outdoors at a shed, about 107 when it started). Luckily our seats were under the covered area, with big-a$$ fans keeping the air moving. They have more songs that I knew than I expected, too. Fireworks, confetti cannons, huge beach balls bouncing around the audience, and a great light/video show.

ACL this past weekend:
  • Day 1: Chris Stapleton, Leon Bridges, Blink-182. Leon Bridges was new to me and pretty great (despite him taking the stage in an orange football jersey). Chris Stapleton likewise was really great - in addition to his normal stuff, he did a verse of Freebird, which was well-received by the crowd. Blink-182...was definitely on stage.
  • Day 2: Dua Lipa, Khruangbin. I liked Dua Lipa more than I thought (and she may be one of the prettiest women in the world), but I think there were some sound issues for some people. Khruangbin was new to me and also pretty great (and not coincidentally, they had Leon Bridges come onstage for a couple of songs). Wish I'd been able to see Jungle, but couldn't make it work.
  • Day 3: Sturgill Simpson, Chappell Roan, Dom Dolla. I was only able to listen to an hour or so of Sturgill's set, but it was great as expected - no crowd work, just moving from one great song to another. Dom Dolla was suggested to me by one of my Gen Z employees - he's an Australian DJ and the crowd was super into his stuff. Chappell Roan was surprisingly the highlight of the weekend for me - lesbian pop isn't really my genre, but she had a huge crowd that was super into everything she was doing. She also did a great cover of Heart's Barracuda. Missed out on seeing Cannons, Orville Peck, and Petey.

Overall impressions: ton of people, but lines for food, drink, and merch inside the venue were pretty reasonable. Line to get through security Day 1 and Day 2 was awful, but we walked through with no real wait on Day 3. Not sure why, since Day 3 definitely had some huge crowds.

Seeing the high Priest... Judas Priest in Irving on Oct. 26th.

Last time I saw them was at Dallas's Starplex maybe 15 years ago... they headlined the Heaven & Hell "festival" that incl. Testament, Motorhead, Dio's Heaven & Hell.

Saw Priest back in May. Rob understandable doesn't quite have the voice of his youth and he was clearly reading lyrics from monitors, but it was still a hell of a show. If Sabaton is opening for them, make sure to catch their full set as well.

Was going to come here and ask if anyone had recs for acts to see so thanks for the info. Heading to W2. What entrance did you use?

Told my daughter that if she wants me to see C Roan or Tyler, the Creator she will have to come see Grand Funk Railroad with me.

Day 1 we parked at a garage near the corner of Barton Springs & South Lamar and used the Barton Springs East entrance. DO NOT do this. The walk to and from wasn't bad, but it took us 90 minutes to get out of the parking garage, since it spits out onto Barton Springs, which was backed up, with no light or traffic direction.

Day 2 and 3 we parked at a business park on the Mopac, then walked along the frontage road to the Lady Bird entrance on Stratford. Was a longer walk (like 2 miles), but much easier to get in and out, and there were a lot of venue folks directing traffic.

The security line was awful both Day 1 and 2, but was a breeze Day 3, and I have no idea why. Every bag was checked, and a lot of people with boots had to remove them after going through the metal detector. There were No Bag lines that moved a little quicker, but it was still a chore.

Good luck if you want to get close to the stage for Chappell Roan; we got there about 45 minutes early and were towards the front but well off to the south side of the AMEX stage (not too far from the bathrooms); we had a good view of one of the screens, but didn't really have a great view of the stage itself. If you stay in that area, you should be relatively in the shade for most of the set.

Parking garages and events where people all leave at the same time are almost never a good mix
