My son and I saw ZZ Top last night in Tulsa. BFG sounded strong and an overall good show but just not the same without Dusty….

Saw U2 at The Sphere. If you don't care for them, the venue and show production are worth it. So much more than "just a screen saver". The sound is so clear, no muddied bass sounds, and no ringing ears after the show even though perfectly loud.
If you just like the band, you'll like them even more. This really could've been their "Fat Elvis" nostalgia last go around. But they were so into it and engaged with the crowd. And Lady Gaga - usually not my thing - showing up for a couple songs was pretty great.
If you're a big fan, cough up the dough and go - it is an incredible experience.

He has more than that one song or does he just play a 90 minute version of it?

When I found out I was going I looked up his shows. Apparently he blends a lot of American songs into his stuff/remixes.

Should be fun enough. And a ton of butts

Man I'm jealous as hell. Take some pics please.

This is one of my favorite Timmy Trumpet videos of all time. Diaz taking the mound while Timmy is playing a trumpet at Citi Field!!!

I've been to Come and Take It Live, long center of performing arts and ACL moody theater so far in Austin.

Mood theater was great for watching a live show and having a comfortable seat

My son and I watched Guns n Roses last night in Ball Arena. Whoever mentioned that they play a solid three hours wasn't joking. 3hrs and 15minutes. Watching Slash rip it that long was gold for me as my son is a little guitarist and was riveted.

And fat Axl has my respect. 1, he isn't that fat anymore. 2, I know he can't sing all those songs the same way anymore, but damn he put himself out there. 3, dude must've had like 35,000 steps on stage. He was like the energizer bunny.

Great show.

Not The Sphere, but my parents are in town and we went to The Station Inn for their Bluegrass Jam (ended up they were celebrating Halloween too)

There's an ambience in these type of shows that can't be replicated on the big stage.

Great stuff!

For nostalgia purposes, we bought $15 GA tix to Better Than Ezra - going to have a big group go see them at HOB in Houston on Nov 12. Should be a great time!

And to echo other posters, TSO is awesome. We go every year when they come to Toyota and the kids absolutely love them. Last night, my 8yo daughter put Christmas Eve Sarajevo on the Sonos - she's already getting pumped. A little early for my taste (come on - wait until after Halloween at least - lol) but I will allow it.....

Wife and I had a date night last night for John Mayer solo tour. It was our 5th time seeing him, plus one time with Dead & Co. In addition I saw him back to back nights with Dead & Co at Wrigley this summer. He never disappoints.

He used a loop pedal at times to great effect, at one point playing a double 12 string/6 string guitar, and at another point playing piano with his right hand and playing guitar with his left. Undeniable talent.

The set list was a good mix of deep tracks. He did a good job of playing songs that worked solo instead of just trying to cram all the hits in.

I'll go see NKOTB if it made my wife happy.

Probably catch me dancing a little too.

I prefer metal shows, but I love live music.

Met a girl after Pearl Jam in Austin that I've been talking to ever since. Everything has been perfect until she just told me an hour ago how excited she is that Creed just announced a tour.

This is strike one.

Just got Iron Maiden. Before fees it was $129 GA floor. Nowadays that is on the cheaper side compared to some of these other artists. Good on Maiden.

Franklin (Nashville) is also ~2hrs from Chattanooga, Knoxville, Huntsville AL, Memphis, Sothern Kentucky, and many other places, so they can pull in people from a fair region and only have to set up the stage once.

Going to see Martin Sexton tomorrow at the Kessler in Dallas. Had 5th row center to see him back in March at the Franklin Theatre the day before the SEC basketball tourney started and rearranged my schedule to accommodate it all only to have my flight canceled while at Bush International and no other flights out that day and missed the show. I was so livid.

Highly recommend anybody in the Dallas area going to see him tomorrow night. He is incredible.

Not related. Martin is from NY. Charlie's got a musical brother though, Will Sexton.

Charlie's cool - here he is with Bowie in '87:
