We watched in on Hulu on Monday night. I think it said something like it would disappear after a day, so it may not be available to binge later that way.

Paramount + doesn't have the rights to stream it. They sold it to Peacock before they created their streaming service.
That's one of the reasons for ending this original run and shifting to a new spin-off. The show started just before a sea change in online streaming, and Paramount wound up without one of its hallmark shows on its own streaming service.

Matthew McConaughey in a spin-off does not look like it is going to happen. Latest names I have seen are Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Very well done. Filming, script, dialog much better without Costner. Never missed him.

Spoiler ahead:

Looks like he has the same role he did in The Big Chill.
Criminally underrated post. Great reference.

Had this same thought. Maybe they had to audible w Costner off the show?

Honestly having a hard time remembering the details as it feels like it has been so long since last new episodes.

The show has always had enough holes in the plot to ride a spinning horse through. But, man, it is beautifully shot, and it's worth the price of admission for the dialogue of the bunkhouse crew.

IIRC, I think he wanted Beth to go to the train station, not his father, hence his shocked reaction when it happened. But, with the Costner feud, they had to change it to John.

Yes, same play as "House of Cards" I mentioned in an earlier post. Both shows start their final run with the death of the main character.

It's been two years since the last half season, given the Costner drama and the writers' strike.

Great summary, exactly why I have continued to watch the show.

Yeah, I much more enjoy the cowboy stuff and the scenery than any of this political crap. And I used to love Beth, but she's so over the top kill-Jamie-focused now, she's just ridiculous.

Reminds me of another show that Sheridan was involved with a more mechanical kind of horse....

Went back and found the last part of the conversation between Jaime and Atwood - it was kinda hard to hear at the time, but ....

Atwood: See, if you're going to go after her, you just might... Maybe... You know.

Jaime: Yeah, that's what I was thinking, too.

Definitely took that as going after John.

I'm a little disappointed that Costner wasn't flung off of a circling horse and trampled...since circling horses are a critical part of the show...but what can you do?

My wife and I both groaned "not this again".
The circling horses are a bit tired at this point.
Yep, it's really old. Also, tired of Sheridan writing parts for himself into shows. He's a horrible actor in his parts in Yellowstone and now he's put himself into season 2 of Lioness. He's so far behind on all these projects he shouldn't be adding to it by putting himself on screen. But his ego has to be going out of control with his current success and given his childhood background.

Taylor Sheridan is a ******, so I imagine that had a lot to do with it.

Grew up in west Texas… I saw more rattlesnakes in that scene than in my entire time out there, outside of the Sweetwater Rattlesnake Roundup.

I'm confused as hell.

What was all that scene in Texas with Beth going down there? Then back at the ranch. No explanation between the jump.

Was that all a flashback? Did I miss something.

I've lived in north and east Texas my entire life, and I never saw a rattlesnake until I was on a hiking trail in Colorado at age 50.

Did you ever truly live in the country?

Maybe north and east Texas are not so much the primary area anyway.

I lived in central Texas outside copperas cove for three years and it was a nearly daily thing there. They killed over 200 of them just clearing the land to build our house.

Literally lost on the back and forth. Montana isn't next to Texas. They jump back and forth like it's nothing. And that scene had to be a dream?

Unless it was a flashback to before. And she was dream remembering it I guess.

But we also had Kaycee and his family fixing up the house they were gonna live in and then suddenly when he returns there it's all done. So I think that was part of the flashback too it just wasn't explained.

This show is such trash but I can't stop watching what the **** was that rattlesnake drama nonsense how the **** was it on her chest and she just realized it
ChipFTAC01

They are obviously juggling a bit because of having to do some editing around Costner leaving the show. The rattlesnake scene was from before John died. Probably Casey fixing the house as well. The rest of it is current time.

This is taking the exact same path down 5hit show lane that SoA did. After Casey kills Jaime, he's gonna give the ranch to Rip, send his kid off to Alaska to fish, and then ride a horse into the front of an 18 wheeler with eyes closed and arms outstretched,

Yeah I'm completely lost.

Does rip have some sort of magical portal to get between Montana and Texas?

And randomly after Kacey and family go extreme home makeover his wife is comforting him about his father dying? After we've already seen him and Beth speak about Jamie's involvement last week? Wut….

They did a terrible job showing which timeliness they were in. Looking forward to Kayce and pals kicking some ass soon. The "snakes on the plain" was a bit ridiculous.

Did anyone else get the feeling that the conversation Beth had with the highway patrol lady and with Rip at the Speak Easy was hinting she was considering moving to Texas?

Definitely has something to do with her plans for the ranch.
