Last night's episode was good. I always look forward to the show.

I did not like that they brought Beth on the round up and branding. Sounds like a good time for the guys and she would absolutely make it miserable.

I keep waiting for Summer to stop acting so crunchy and didn't mind at all that Rip told her to shut the hell up. Rather enjoyed that.

John Dutton is starting to annoy the hell out of me. Also, I hate his haircut.

Meh. Thought the fight scene was a little forced to be the female equivalent of Lloyd and Walker slugging it out in the rodeo ring, getting it out of their systems, then understanding each other and burying the hatchet. Not really sure the point of it other than the continued caricature they've made of Beth (the bar fight last week, now this?). She needs a rubber room and straight jacket.
To me it wasn't nearly as forced as the bar fight. Some shades of Lloyd vs. Walker for sure, and also some of Kacey vs. Rip when they slugged it out.

At least with this fight, there was purpose. Beth sees Summer as a threat to her dad, and wants to establish the pecking order as a Beth-like effort to protect the ranch. But in "beating it out of each other", Beth and Summer actually find a bit of mutual respect that could grow over time...and Summer starts to possibly see things in a different way. Beth wins, but she also treats Summer with more respect moving forward.

But my favorite part of that scene was the change in dynamic between Rip and Beth, if only for that moment. He usually holds back when trying to reel Beth's crazy in, but in that moment he lit into to her and Summer just like he would to the cowboys when they screw up. Great moment.

My hope with Monica is they soften her character more toward John and the ranch...much like they have done between John and Rainwater. Instead of being enemies, there's mutual respect...even if there are different priorities at times.

I also liked the exchange between Rip and Mo in the previous episode when Rip said he would have been glad to dig the hole if he'd known. Definitely a mutual respect there. Mo is the most underrated character on the show.

The last scene with Monica was weird. Part of me thinks she's putting on a front because she knows her misery is affecting Kayce and Tate, but still feels depressed and broken inside. Seems like something is gonna happen with her while they're gone

I was thinking back to the Dynasty fight between Joan Collins and Linda Evans, though much more violent.

I think this might be the worst show on TV right now. Hate me but I'm skipping this over White Lotus and getting to Yellowstone on Monday or Tuesday.

She's stunningly beautiful and in fantastic shape but I'd bet you dollars to donuts that was a body double.

It's a ridiculous soap opera and admittedly a guilty pleasure for pretty much everyone still watching, but worst show on TV? Lol. Not even close.

During the first scene with Kayce, I was thinking " Well sh** - Monica and gone and totally ruined him now too - he's sitting by himself crying like a baby". Then she came out and actually consoled him and told him to keep his job. And her attitude got better as the episode went on. Her laugh at the dinner table was awesome and I agree with the earlier poster - seems off script and genuine.

Liked Rip slamming both Beth and Summer - thought he might lean towards Beth's side but he played it right in the middle.

Great episode overall. Looking forward to some kind of sh** going down on the trip to the branding.

Anyone watch the 4 part Yellowstone documentary hosted by Costner? We watched it last night. Pretty good and gives a bit of a historical account on Hayden who was sent out there to survey regarding mining and railroad and ended up recommending the land not be touched and led to the creation of the Nat'l Park system.

I've got money on the fire jumping, they get trapped with time to save the herd or escape, someone tries to save a cow and dies.

They way this (****)show is going, I was kind of half expecting Rip to treat them just like his cowboys and say "if you are gonna fight somebody, you are gonna fight me" and then the girls have a tag team match.

Already done once this week. She responded with a look that was a little side eyed. My response was "So we aren't going to do that?"

I'm to the point I hate myself for even watching this train wreck. It's a shame they didn't just stick with the miniseries plan and make it great. The writing is the same crap over and over. It's easily the worst show I watch. I'm sure there is worse stuff on TV but this is it for me.

I've always loved the show but my wife, who grew up in the ranching business, was never a fan. But she watched it tonight with me and even enjoyed this episode. Monica was fine in the episode and I didn't have to watch the torture between Beth and Jamie so it was great to me!

While ranching is no longer our only means of income, we still live and work full time out here. We still love the show. It's the show we watch to unwind. It's ridiculous in almost all cases but it's still something we look forward to watching and forgetting the world for 60 minutes. Just let it suck you in and enjoy.

Yea my wife is the exception because her whole family has watching parties for Yellowstone but she's just not interested. I really enjoy the show personally so I watch it alone usually.

Finally got caught up on the show and haven't read any of the TexAgs threads until now.

- I don't hate Monica nearly as much as some of you. Sure her character is mopey and one dimensional, but......
- Beth is the character I hate the most of any television show I've ever watched. Yes, even worse than Skylar in BB. Cannot stand her, and really hoping this "girl-fight" was her turning the corner. When she started attacking the driver of a moving vehicle and threatened to murder his baby (because it wasn't fair?) I almost turned off the show to never watch it again.

I guess I'm just too pot-committed at this point.

There all bad people. You just have to decide which bad person you can live with and ignore the rest. Then it'll suck you in like the rest of us!

Just re-read my post and it comes off more negative than I wanted it to. I enjoy a lot of aspects of the show - I'm about the furthest you can get from being a cowboy, so none of the realistic stuff I even notice.

I just hate Beth with a passion.

I feel the same way. It reminds me of Sons of Anarchy. One of my favorite shows ever. Completely stupid and unrealistic, but for whatever reason, I can't stop watching.

I also hate Beth. I think if they toned her down just a bit, I wouldn't mind her. She's just too far gone and every waking moment she is torturing herself or someone else.

I am not far from pulling the plug on this. I will probably see the season out, cause I am no quitter, but will likely not come back unless it has one hell of a rally. All my reasons have been spelled out already on this thread.

Did they water down their writing talent with all the spin offs? This the natural arc of things? What happened?
