I didn't mean in a negative way.Chruchie said:
no need to rub salt in the wound. i'm sure his disagreement with the decision was communicated, however she's still me one who he has a relationship with and be they both cavalier. Mark is above pettiness or potentially passive aggressive comments. We here can voice our disappointment and it doesn't do anything, however Mark doesn't have that luxury. We are talking about a 21 year old, she's still growing.

To debate this further, I'm not sure how Joffe is getting away with his current singles lineup. That will be flagged/debated during the NCAAs. Pursoo should be playing around 3 or 4.

Shout out to superstar trainer Sho Aria. He put Luciana's foot back together after she injured it. Boyer had some great shots in her doubles match. In singles she played against the tu player who beat Reed indoors. Perez not only played 2 tie-breakers, each tie-breaker went extra. Great confidence boost for the whole team.
i feel vindicated todayChruchie said:
I just want to remind everyone on Lex's background: She's a top recruit from Florida. She has played and lulu have probably played the least indoor tennis in the team. She will be so much better outdoors.
If Mark decides to go with Jeanette when/if she gets fully healthy then we roll with that.

Outdoors is waaaaaay different than indoors and we are an outdoor team for sure.

On the Daria front: her game is going to fall when she plays lesser competition, it's just what happens. But when we play elite teams that are deep in the 5 spot, her true level is going to shine. I think we are in a position where we should win matches with doubles and any other singles combination that takes pressure off daria, but when we really need the 5 spot, when the level rises on the other side of the net she will come through.

Good call. Lulu was so clutch. I'm pretty sure she was hooked on a point in that second breaker, but she maintained composure and delivered. It was a big win. Bowers beat Mia in the first match.

it's now 53 degrees with no precipitation. There is no excuse for not playing today

WTF is going on? This is the biggest disaster of an ITF I've seen in a long time

I can't believe we are reaching the end of a sunday, what should be the day of the final, with not even R2 completed and they still want to continue this tourney like i've never seen anything quite like it

Omg it still hasn't started, what time does it get dark in Texas at this time of year?

So they are finally playing but why only one match

Then why the hell are they not playingMake it make sense...
Agree. Passionate fans help the program.Ag4eva95 said:
What do you mean nasty? Lol
The usuals here love Aggie tennis, but there is no denying that this team is short a scholarship player. Boyer did her job and contributed, but would have to think it could have been more competitive if we didn't have to play a walkon

The Day After
Lots of great comments above and thanks to those who posted tweets! I do not do any of the 'social networking' stuff so only way I get them.
Still amazed at all that happened yesterday. Needing four points won the first set in four of the singles matches. Hey, we can do it. It will be tough but we really CAN do it! As mentioned above, I think Lulu was down 2-5 in the second set but she was playing tough - she can do it, she can really win the second set, too, I thought. By this time it was Lulu and Daria so having only two screens to watch made it easier. Both were really battling it out. This is some great tennis, I was thinking, some really great tennis! Each point won made me think 'we CAN do this, we CAN pull it out' - and they did. They actually did it! Still pinching myself this morning.
Coaches doing their coaching stuff, staff taking care of Lulu, Aggie fans there cheering them on, the 'finished' players cheering each other on, what an amazing match! If anyone has a link to the match, say on Cracked Racquets, please post it. Would love to watch it again.
Oh, I put the video of Daria closing it out on 1/4 speed. Stopped it when the ball hit the ground. Looks like it hit about 1" out. I could not tell from the on court camera when I was watching live but I knew it was ruled out by their reaction! As fans we were all excited but imagine their thoughts and feelings at that time. Excitement, shock, surprise, happiness, joy, etc. And it showed!
And the very clear pic of the team showing horns down in front of the easily readable sip scoreboard - priceless!
