How does it work with 3rd sets? Seems like sometimes they play the full set, sometimes only the 10 point sprint. Do they only play the full set if the team match is still undecided? For example yesterday we had two women just play the 10 pointers, is that because the team score was already decided in our favor?

Yes. Once the match is solidified, they typically just play 10 point tiebreakers in the 3rd to finish out the matches.

that is exactly it. If the match is decided and the coaches have decided to play all of the matches out, then any unstated 3rd set will be a 10 point tiebreaker.

Yes. It often times happens when the team match is decided.

I would now undoubtedly agree. I thought we might have gotten the more challenging site initially, but this weekend is giving us so much information that would say otherwise. UCLA is now the team that makes me the most nervous, i think Michigan is good and they play a ton of matches indoors but UCLA's depth is more concerning imo

I believe Oklahoma State's top player still hasn't been cleared to play. That result probably wouldn't be repeated if she were playing.

Yeah it's weird. With her, they are loaded. But their roster is very suspect at the moment. Gracie Epps is surpassing playing that high up in the lineup. I think it speaks to how uncompetitive their roster is

I agree. OKSt. Currently doesn't have the depth to compete with e true elite teams. If they can't get wins at 1&2 they virtually have no chance of winning a match. If they lose the doubles point versus a good team their odds of winning the match drop to below 50% I think. Their pathway right now to winning competitive matches in very obvious: doubles 1,2 & probably 4.

Just curious. Just saw something about her silently committing to "one of the best D1 schools" and that she will post an announcement soon. Our coaches and some team members follow her. Just thought it was interesting.

I wonder if she will split from her twin sister, Alexis.

Speaking of sisters, the top recruit in that class, Iva Jovic, will be that year or even next year's Diana Schneider / Maya Joint. She beat Mary in the fall and her older sister plays for UCLA.

i think we see the doubles we saw against San Diego. Those are the pairs that they're rolling with to start the season and getting reps is important. I wouldn't be surprised if we see mary and nicole pulled from singles and we see jeannette and liz get matches.

Mark said they have several different combinations they believe they will try. Not sure we will see anything different today but I'd expect them to play around a bit with the lineup. Apparently Mary and Lu played doubles at a pro event and it went well.

Good call on Liz. Will be great to see her and Lex compete together! We saw Mia and Daria together not too long ago, too.

As discussed above, we will get to see others play today. As of now, we know Mary is definitely not playing today - doubles or singles. Lizanne Boyer will play 3 doubles with Lexington. Jeanette will play singles.
