Tough loss. Her opponent was very impressive - especially for a freshman. She's only 17.frankie00 said:
Lulu falls in a tie-breaker, 1-7, darn it.
The second set was back and forth and I thought she might pull it out but ...

Lopata from Georgia beat Carson today 6-1, 6-1. Good win for her. Carson has been playing some incredible tennis. Wondering why Lopata is not at NCAAs.

There is one lucky loser spot so I'm curious if Lulu continues to win a couple if she can make it to the main draw.

Yes - agree. Honestly, I watch Lopata play and I'm baffled at her success. Solid player for sure, but I wonder how she's not easily overpowered based on today's game. She reminds me a bit of Hingis with the way she plays. Always in the point; master of moving the ball around, but, to me, nothing spectacular outside of hustle and pure determination. Some athletes just know how to win. No shade to her at all.Aggie Tennis said:aggiedrjdub said:

Crazy how much Lopata's improved. Stanford, Georgia, and Texas are all stacked. So are we - and then it drops off. Should be another amazing season!
