I see the change in the bracket this morning, at the site I use. It was not like that yesterday after your post.

It's like the wonderful NCAA (sarcasm) in their seeding of tournaments - sometimes (often?) ridiculous seeding. Aggie softball in last year's tourney a recent example.

That may not be the worst thing in the chess game of tennis life.

Also rooting for LSU's likely #2 Anita Sahdiieva today and former Tech standout Gabriella Lee tomorrow. I'll explain later.

Was away for a few hours this morning so missed the start. Just started, first game going on now.

I like the way she plays but I REALLY like that she stays so calm. No racket banging, no balls slammed against the fence after a mistake, bad shot, etc. I think this is an excellent thing to have!

I agree! Her poise is great to see at a young age. I find it interesting that I watched her online when she was at the Baylor invitational, she was not nearly playing as well as she is and that was against severely lesser competition. She's playing currently like someone that would have won the ita Texas regional tournament. I wonder if she is someone who raises her game against better opponents, or reverse can play down sometimes to lesser players. If I was making our lineup right now she would probably have the lead for the 5 line.

If she keeps playing like she is now she's definitely in the lineup. Sticking my neck out but maybe even 4.

We'll see!

Recall I stated in this thread when I first started posting that I used to rely solely on Athletic department press releases to follow the team. I had no idea that the players were playing in pro tournaments and certainly did not see any results. They have listed some this Fall but no results. I have benefitted enormously from the links provided in this TexAgs forum and because of this have been able to watch a lot of great tennis at pro tournaments starting this past summer. And the people in the tennis forum provided links to pro tourney sites, ratings sites, etc. They have been a huge source for Aggie tennis for me. A&M should be doing the same!

I ALSO wonder why the team has not been promoted a LOT more, especially after the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP !!

Can't wait. I predict Mary 6-2, 6-3 and hope for a great match from both!

I also think Mary will probably win the match but Lex will win several games. But it would not surprise me at all if Lex pulled out a win - perhaps she has a really, really good day and Mary is off a bit.

I have not see Lex play a lot and so have not seen how she reacts when she is down big, say 1-5. She has been soooo calm the few times I have seen her and I am impressed. Will be more impressed if she handles adversity the same. Never good to let an opponent see you frustrated and rattled.

She is playing a teammate today so not really a good test of this but will still be very interesting!

I hope I do not miss the start!
