And so the War of the Roses begins.

Mary takes her 6-1, 6-1.
My amateur opinion - Mary played an efficient match. Made a lot of great shots, at least two aces that froze Lex.
Lex did not play as well as she has the last three matches but still made some great shots. Some great decisions on shot placement. And she stayed calm. I know she was frustrated but she barely showed it. I am impressed with the young lady. I thought she would win a few more games but was not to be.
She has practiced with Mary, seen her in tournaments, seen the trophy case and the rankings. She knew she had a tough hill to climb. But she will get better each tournament, each season and in a couple of years she will do the same to the new girl(s).
Aggie women's tennis rocks!

For those that don't know Iva. She's one of the top US juniors. I've seen her play live at the US Open. Crazy talented - she won first round and almost made the third round this year.
All that said, I'm picking Mary to win this!

I've watched Joint play several matches recently. She's good, but beatable. Playing style-wise; I think Mary matches up well with her.Anchorhold said:
