Acquah graduates in August and is going to grad school. She'll be back and will have eligibility left in both indoor and outdoor thanks to Covid.
Distin was only a freshman in both this year. She will likely be around or a long while.
Also, Achane will not run trials. Heading back to football.

That's amazing amazing news on Acquah! So glad she's coming back... seeing her improvement year after year is incredible and I fully expect her to be around 47 and high 22! I was just a little worried on Distin since she did so well, but I think she has so much room to grow as well! I bet her triple jump will become better too, hopefully over 44! Acquah and Distin will keep us elite for sure!

I was trying to think of the men's three finalists but it's a little difficult I was thinking Harrison, Turner Washington and Laird, but Cooper Teare has a strong case for his Mike record and 13:12
It can be cheaper and easier for Texas HS student to go to Arkansas than it is to go to A&M. Arkansas waives out of state tuition for Texas residents, has lower standards to get in and is cheaper than A&M.
This gives Arkansas an advantage, if no (or very little) scholarship money is offered by the two schools.

Awesome for her! I would have honestly been kinda disappointed if she passed up the money and stayed in school. So excited to watch her career

Nothing left for her to do in college individually. So glad she spent her year with the Ags
Thankful to have gotten to watch her compete in Aggieland!
Although I never got to see her run in person, I loved watching her compete for Texas A&M and look forward to continue following her career.
Hope this works out better than Brazier in 2016. Exact same situation. Freshman...NCAA Championship/record....go pro...Olympic Trials. Brazier was favored to make the team and didn't even make finals. After the long college season, the distraction of turning pro, hiring agent, signing endorsement contract, and then faced with racing tactics of more experienced runners it didn't turn out well. After watching Brandon Miller almost get boxed in in the prelims I'm nervous for her. Hope she just goes to the front and boat races everyone for three rounds.
My thoughts too! I wonder if Pat Henry learned from that and maybe wanted Mu to do more 400's and less 800's after Brazier! I saw online that she hasn't hired an agent yet, so hopefully she saves all that for after the trials and just wanted to announce it to get it over with. I think the first couple rounds will be easy, I'm just curious what her strategy for finals will be?? Wonder if she wants to control the race or will she decide to sit with Ajee Wilson

Pat Henry says Athing Mu will continue to train in College Station and earn her degree! With 3 high school 800 runners running in the Olympic trials with Mu, it'll be nice to have her as a training partner! Going to be huge for recruiting!!

No Aggies running today besides Mu, but tomorrow we'll have the NCAA and American Women javelin record holder Maggie Malone competing as well as Katelyn Fairchild the nation's number one javelin recruit and Aggie signee who qualified to the trials as a high schooler! Shamier Little will also be in the 400 hurdle prelims tomorrow! Mu, Malone, and Little are all favorites to advance to Tokyo!

Yeah most events are capped at 24-30 but so many 800 women hit the standard! It's one of the deepest events in the US! The first round may be easier to advance as she can run a 1:59/2:00 and advance but she can't be getting boxed in or mess around the next 2 rounds. In her heat Martinez ran that 1:57 like 8 years ago. Ajee Wilson is the American record holder, Raevyn Rogers is world class, and Hanna Green, Kate Grace, and Sabrina Sutherland are going to put up a big fight! It's going to be excited!
