Do all of these rates being quoted include all the service
line charges per kWh? Like right now I am paying roughly ~.055 kWh but also being charged oncors line fee of somewhere around .035 so my true charge is somewhere around .09. Just curious of what is being quoted is total
Charges or just the kWh for the actually energy not everything else

Everything is included in that price. For example, on my plan: for 2000kwh, there is no charge for usage, energy charge is 1.2 cents per kwh, TDSP is $3.73 per kwh plus flat $8.72 per month. That works out to .05366 per kwh.

Cool, just signed up. Only thing I missed was do they cancel my current plan for me or do I need to go in and change it.. can't find it in a FAQ area either.

They basically take every bit of personal information you have, including social security number, address and credit card info

They dropped me from $.098 kWh avg to $.048 kWh at 2000 kwh plus.. Not sure how they did it but whatever. Sounds good to me. Can't find a catch but still feel like it's coming. Seems like everyone else is please with them though

With pennywise in Fort Worth. If petroAg can find it more power to him, but I don't see this anywhere in their site. Doesn't matter to me... It's $10 a month and I'll save at least $150 next month so not going to worry about it

I paid my first bill (partial month) with Cirro (and Energy Ogre) and it was a legit 5 cents/kwh. I got a letter in the mail from TXU begging me to come back for a special offer of 8.2 cents/kwh plus $150 (I think) in gift cards.

No thanks, TXU!

Well I just signed up. Was with Bounce at 9cents and they said they could save me 40%. So I told them to maek the swtich on the 1st. I don't know if they can make a switch that fast, I don't see why not, I have a smart meter so I don't think a company has to do much, but well see. That $150 ETF should be paid for quickly if I really can save 40% (which it sounds like 5 cents compared to 9 cents is mathmatically 40%).

Mine switched over within 3 days.. And has been completely legit. Went from just over .09 to .048. Using ~3000 kWh a month right now will pay for the switch really quick. I still can't find the plan they put me on.

I checked out Energy Ogre, but found a better deal with Gexa at .041 per kwh.

For those of you who have switched when you were under contract, did you ever receive a bill for the ETF?

I know Seven said he never did a few months ago.

That would be ideal. I called bounce and I've been with them for over 4 years and asked if they could reduce it at all and they were like nope. I don't mind paying if it cuts 40% because Ill make that back in a heart beat. They sent me an email asking for my last bill so they could get the ESID and meter number to research and see if the savings woudl outweigh the ETF before they'd do anything. I just signed up in march for a 12 month plan, so I dont see how it couldn't be worth it.

I think I'm the most excited about them managing it going forward. I hate trying to research and make the swtiches and I obviously suck at it since I'm paying 9 cents.

Saved another $45 this month fromy old average billing plan. My AC is running 12-16 hours a day and my total bill was $181. Minus the service fee I'm up to $165 net savings in just 3 months.

Am I locked into any sort of contract signing up?

everything I can tell is there is no contract with EO. I think the only thing stopping you from doing that is their own record keeping. I assume they keep records of cusotmers and would be able to tell if you were doing that and not service you anymore. I don't know if they woudl do that or not.

Their customer service has been less than ideal in my dealings with them so far. I signed up 2 weeks ago and haven't heard much from them. They took my money no problem and then said "well request your usage and then run the numbers, shoudl only take a few days." Well, 2 weeks later, I emailed them and went ahead and attached my last 18 months bills to do the work for them. Had an email a few minutes later saying someone would call me soon, they called to confirm my ETF which they already had, and then when I called them back the lady said she was going to double check my numbers and call me right back, haven't heard from her. I'll call them back tomorrow and see what's going on. But at first interactions, I'm not too impressed with the customer service.

That's frustrating. When is your contract up? If your contract isn't up until late August or early September they may not get to you right away. If you would like email Chris. He is the VP and has been extremely helpful to me. I posted his info on here earlier on the first page.

My contract isn't up until March so I know it's going to make sense to break it.

I finally got a call back at 5 and were going with a gexa plan at 4 cents compared to my 9.7.

4 cents? That's amazingly awesome.

After reading this thread, I did the savings calculation on their website and it was $1400 over 12 months! I went to power to choose and found 4.4 cents (was paying 7.7). I plan to pay the cancellation with reliant since current contract was until March 2016. I figured I would go this route first and when rates get to 6-8 cents I will try Ogre to find the best rate. I'm in a 3 month contract now until November with the 4.4 cents.

Got my first bill today. 3347kwh was only $185 with the plan they found. Still can't find this plan on pennywisepower.com as they don't show to offer a 6 month for my area but it paid for the whole year of energy ogre in the first month compared to my .094 per kWh with Reliant. Wish I had done this sooner.

I would live to see the data on the effect "deregulation"actually had on the average user.

I am willing to bet it was a net loss for the average customer when you factor in transition costs And time spent trying to find the best deal.

i am in a regulated market, and ny rate is about $.11/kWh. Not that bad really. Doesn't seem much more if at all than when I was in Houston market a couple years ago.

4 cents?? Is that bottom line or is that just the provider portion? (Center point still gets their portion)
Give details of current bill. A 1500kwh month would be $60.

Ogre takes into account all transmission costs and hidden fees. When they lock you in at $.04/kW that is what you pay total per kilowatt.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I just got my final bill from bounce (old provider pre EO). Even though I called prior to cancelling and checked my EFL for my ETF ($150) they tried to charge me a $200 ETF. Called and they didn't want to reduce it. Told them I was never recommending anyone use their service again (I had referred probably 8-10 people to them under their reward program) and the rep went to talk to her sup. I told them that was shady stuff. Asked if they would knock it down to $100 and they told me to fly a kite.

I will never use them again even if they are the lowest provider.

Cancel your auto pay, then send in a payment for the electricity you used (that way you or the company isn't out any money), then play hardball on the ETF. Only pay it if they are about to send you to collections.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
They ended up reducing it to the 150 it should be when I threatened to call the PUC (I didn't know if they could help but I thought it wouldn't hurt to threaten it). But the fact that they tried to pull some shady **** will make me forever caution against them. You gotta know that they do it to more than just me because most people don't check their bills like I do.

I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask for a reduction of the 150 for the hassle of having to spend 20 minutes on hold to talk to a rep to get it resolved in the first place, but they didn't think that was appropriate apparenlty.

Oh well. Screw them, I'm still coming out ahead.

Are people actually getting 4 cents/kWh from Energy Ogre? Or is that an example?

I got 4.1-5.1 depending on usage from them with Gexa. I will likely hit about 4.5 this month with my current usage.

Well hot dang. I am with Bounce paying 4.1 cents before Centerpoint charges, 10.5 cents after. Unfortunately just signed up for a new 12 month contract.
