We were somewhat lucky to get it 23, but that's how baseball go. 2011 team was best team in the league and we saw how that worked out.

Post WS we had the #7 farm system. Langford and Carter were top 10 guys. Jung was an all star. Seager and Semien had just finished 2-3 in MVP. Expecting a decent window was very reasonable.

Collyer pitched last night for Round Rock, so he may not be available tonight. But back on the squad nonetheless.

Woof, that lineup isn't exactly murderer's row... so we will probably score 10 runs tonight We need to get some players off the injured list and back in the lineup.

I'm sadly going to end up being right aren't I? Seager just never recovers quickly.

Yep, Foscue will get the error but Burger should have handled that.

And one of those was an absolute gift from a Rockies collapse. What an awful stretch

Wyatt Langford put up a 3.9 WAR in 2024.

Jung got hurt in 2024.

Seager put up a 5.0 WAR in 2024.

Evan Carter was a late 2nd round draft pick that was solid but nothing special in his short minor league tenure. He was the perfect encapsulation of things falling our way that year.

I think expecting a decent window is/was realistic, but nothing about that roster should have given anyone the idea that there was any kind of long-term dominant window opening -- we weren't even dominant the year we won a title.

This team has all the personality of a house cat. It's the most uninteresting team of all time, and that was the case even before this recent slew of injuries.

Ive wrote this and deleted before post like 4 times but here we go…. Trade Degrom…. to the Cubs, they need a pitcher…. Rangers will pick up majority of 26 salary. Cubs send 3 prospects to the Nationals…1 to Rangers + CJ Abrams from Nationals… Rangers get a plug and play bat…
.289 11HRs 45rbis….. Corey… go ahead and move
to 1st, hopefully you can play the rest of season without IL stint. Now Rangers are off of Degroms contract for next yr. and can decide if they wanna buy yrs off CJ Abrams based on 1/2 yr here. Fingers crossed get Bradford back mid july/ Aug 1st. Pitching isnt the problem moving forward…… gotta get more options in lineup.

Yeah idk why Seager, a 32 year old SS who's 6'4" and like 230 insists and staying there and not moving to 1st, it really hurts the team

I'm very much leaning towards blowing it up. Seager and deGrom need to go. Too much money tied up in players who are walking IL candidates. Eovaldi has some value and should be traded. Carter needs to be sent down and let him spend a season in AAA playing everyday, maybe he can get his bat going down there. Catching is a black hole. Osuna, IMO, has earned the right to not only stay on the roster, but play every day. I'd even part with Nimmo if the right offer came along.

I predicted 82 wins for this team, which now looks insanely optimistic.

Carter situation was a forced hand. After being a key part of our World Series run in 2023, he was all but guaranteed to be a starter in 2024.

2024 he showed there was a decent chance he was just a small sample size success. He rightfully started 2025 in AAA, but got called up when he was "healthy" to try and give that 2025 team a spark.

I think the reality with Evan Carter is that he's not a bonafide MLB player and we got a small sample size lightning in a bottle with him during our WS run when a lot of teams didn't have the book on him yet.

He had a 0.470ish slugging in his only two full seasons in the minors (high A and AA)... Then got called up in 2023 and put up a .645 slugging in the big leagues.

Small sample size noise.

I somewhat agree, but I think he'd improve quite a bit in Triple A and it would allow him to become what he probably is, a 9 hole or lead off hitter. Sees a lot of pitches and walks.

Carter has spent a good part of the 2 seasons since hurt. I don't think it can be chalked up to mis-development.

There's no world in which this team would do anything in the playoffs even if they somehow took advantage of a putrid division and made it in. That should cinch it for everyone that it's time to sell across the board.

In a true "baseball market" what's happened here since 2023 would be a major story. This team and organization has embraced complacency, assuming that Ranger fans only really needed one WS title so why try for anything more? It was reasonable to expect to be competitive (not dominant, but competitive) after 2023 given who all they had and who was coming back. There's plenty of blame to go around: ownership and CY deserve the lions share of it, but some of these players are guilty as well. Corey Seager could be a more assertive leader, he could have taken on a bigger role after 2023 in mentoring younger player, but that apparently hasn't happened. Neither he nor Langford appear to be in a huge rush to get back in the lineup. That's a cultural issue, IMO. There's no one on the team giving them at least a little side eye at how these nagging things keep occurring with them. It's a shame about Seager too, that dude hit the most iconic home run in team history and he's on a path to fade away into anonymity when he should have a statue out front.

Blow this mf'er up and get some juice back in the organization. It'd be nice to see Davis sell to a more competitive minded owner, but I can't see that happening. Best we can hope for is an influx of younger talent that can actually string together a few hits.
South Platte

That should end Foscue's time as a Ranger. That's as basic of a 4-3 double play as you'll ever get and he couldn't make it.
