Jimmy Butler tore his ACL. He had been having a great season. They are 2-4 in games without him so far this year.

Makes the play-in easier, should the Mavs choose to go that route.

I agree. We are improving in so many spots not named AD. Christie is lightning it up. Naji is so tough in the paint. Has stepped up big, making me question PJ's importance to this team. Flagg is Flagg and maturing by the week. Would love to see a healthy Kyrie and AD next to Flagg.

The Mavs have publicly stated they are are down to two options for the new arena - either the Valley View site, or downtown. Specifics are still pretty vague, other than they hope to select a site to move forward with by July 1st.

Considering every option but the one that makes the most sense - renovate the AAC and stay where you are. It's perfect as is for everyone (except the money hungry owners).

I wonder if something like this could be on the table. Maybe Toronto really wants to get off RJ and Quickley and gives another first in the future.

The bet is that AD can't stay healthy and that Toronto has the third hardest remaining schedule in the East. They are only 1.5 game up on the play-in and they are 6 games out of missing the play-in entirely. Maybe the Mavs win more games with Quickley and Barrett, maybe not.

In March, the top 11 rotation would include, Kyrie, Quickley, Nembhard/BWill, Christie, Klay, Barrett, Naji, Flagg, PJ, Gafford, and Cisse. Decent team, but not exactly scaring anybody.

Mavs would be looking at two picks late in the lottery, most likely. In that area you could draft Lendeborg or Haugh to be your PJ replacement and Carr or Wagler as a shooter. Probably wouldn't be able to get either of the high end guards unless you get insane lottery luck again.

At that point the Mavs biggest weakness would be starting center (assuming Lively can't stay healthy). Maybe go in to the year seeing if you can get away with Lively/Gafford/Cisse, but maybe Lively and Gafford are just never healthy. Then you could figure out how to get rid of a combination of PJ/Lively/Klay/Gaff to try to upgrade your starting center spot.

If you told me some players on the Mavs were compensated for throwing this game I would not be surprised. Some of the turnovers have been comical.

Max Christie is not one of the players I had in mind.

I'm sure we could get great value for Naji, but I really hope we don't trade him.

It's so hard to watch this group and not think they could be super competitive if they added Kyrie, a completely healthy Lively and more shooting.

ETA: Brandon Williams is also a really solid player these days.

If Toronto is still looking to deal we could effectively add players to this group. If this was Quickley playing point instead of B Will…

We are in a really strange roster spot because eventually Nembhard and Cisse are going to have to be added to standard contracts. They are too good and their number of 2 way games is going to run out soon. So we'd have to deal with a team that can take on more players than they send out, or figure out a third team to add.

B Will has one really neat skill, his rim finishing, and that's about it. If he were a good shooter or better floor general, he could be a legitimate NBA player. Right now, he's just a nice guy to have on the end of the bench, IMO.

Always good to beat Kerr and the warriors. 1 game out of the play in. Naji is a freaking baller.
