"You're a ****ing joke" would be one of the kinder things that have been said to me as a player was being sent off. Normally players do lash out at that time. And it's almost always an emotional outburst and nasty.

So I guess our options are either Yoro and Heaven at CB or something a little more odd like Yoro and Shaw at CB and Dalot at LB? Not great. I like Yoro and Heaven individually, but I didn't like them together at the same time. But I've really disliked Dalot at LB.

For one reason or another it feels like we get to April and have no good defender options. We haven't gotten to "Casemiro at CB" level yet, but we are getting close.

All the focus is on the center of defense but the midfield is nearly as problematic and more of an unknown. I doubt we'll see something other than Yoro and Heaven in the center of defense but with the midfield...is Mainoo fit enough to start? If he's not, do you go Ugarte/Casemiro to help support your young center backs? Or do you go Bruno/Casemiro to give you some modicum of ball retention and progression to help your defenders in a different way? And if you do that, does Mount, a player who has barely played since Carrick was brough in, start?

There's no answer to any of those questions that I particularly like. It's all just an exercise of which answer do I hate least.

I didn't know Yoro was injured until I just saw it on Twitter. I guess that does make the starting back 4 easy since we have 4 players available (if you don't count Malacia… which… I mean I feel sorry for him, but heavily don't want to see).

Yeah, I didn't know it either till just now. Honestly, we might have to go full Amorim out of necessity. Heaven flanked by Shaw on the left and Mazraoui on the right.

It's either that or play Heaven and Mazraoui as center backs in a back 4? Casemiro as a center back?

Good god, we're going to be 4 points clear of 6th after Saturday night...ha.

Maybe you just go crazy with Ten Hag's vision with Bruno and Mount pushing forward and hoping Cas and his old legs can protect the whole defense.

For real, though, injuries and unavailability make things tough. It's hard also because Chelsea's midfield actually is pretty good.

I think you go (left to right)

Dalot - Shaw - Heaven - Mazraoui

The slightly bright side is I don't really think J. Pedro is the most physical striker. Heaven has a decently tall frame, but he's still growing into it.

No one has said (I think) other than he didn't travel and there's rumors it could be the rest of the season. I haven't seen what it is or what caused it.

Yeah I said above that we only had 4 defenders on the whole team besides Malacia, who barely counts (and is not even Championship level these days if we are honest).
