We weren't coming back either way, but I don't agree with that card. I don't think actual targeting of long hair for pulling should be allowed, but if there is something incidental… that's kind of the price of long hair. I'd be shocked if something doesn't occasionally get caught on Cucccarella's mop, for example.

Maybe next game we need to have the team all wear long wigs....

Does anyone know if they actually ended up adding any time to Maguire's 1 game suspension because he apparently said something bad? Kind of need there to not be.

Ok, we're down a goal and a man with 6 minutes + added time to play and we still have a central midfield of Ugarte and Casemiro.

We played like complete ass for 60 minutes today, unfortunately the refs were complete ass for 97 minutes. This didn't do much to convince that Carrick should be the manager moving forward. How do you only use 2 subs when you're losing and down a man?

So Saturday at Chelsea the CB pair will be Yoro and Heaven? No Licha, no DeLigt, and I'm assuming no Maguire. I know he was charged by the FA but I haven't seen an outcome.

You're not asking me but no surprise that I did not like Ugarte playing the full 90+7 under the circumstances...even though I do acknowledge he served a purpose.

I think after the red, Carrick was effectively looking for a reason to either go for it or pack up shop. If United hadn't scored by the 75-80th minute, he likely pulls players like Casemiro to rest up for Chelsea. When Casemiro did score in the 70th, to his credit he immediately made subs to try and get a second by putting on Mbeumo and Dalot. I think he should have followed that up in the 80-85th with Heaven for Shaw and Mount for Ugarte. He kind of half assed his play for the 2nd goal by worrying too much at the end about Leeds scoring a 3rd.

I had to miss the entire second half due to a meeting. Thankfully. Good lord. That was a bad loss

I don't think it made sense to take either Ugarte or Casemiro off because we didn't sacrifice an attacker for a defender when Lisandro got taken off. And obviously that's because we were hoping beyond probability that we could somehow score (edit: twice I mean). That's also why you can't just throw Mount or Lacey on unless you are taking off Bruno which would be dumb. The sub of Amad for Mbeumo already put on the attacker we had with physicality (which isn't Lacey). I guess we could have subbed Heaven for Yoro, but he did a pretty good job of handling CB duties by himself with Lisandro off.

Our fullbacks allowed too much space. Poor game by Mazraoui especially. Probably should have started Mbeumo over Amad in retrospect to have more physicality to help from the start.

You take Ugarte off because he offers you NOTHING offensively when you are pushing for a late tie

Why do I have to take off Bruno if I sub in Mount? Late in the game, United struggled to win and retain possession in their own third. They could not beat Leeds' counter press often enough because they were down a man, lost their best possession defender (Lisandro) and an Ugarte/Casemiro midfield is just not equipped to provide an effective outlet. Bruno was dropping insanely deep to try and help retain possession after winning it and to progress the ball because Ugarte is absolutely useless at that. Mount could have helped for at least the last 10 minutes with that and maybe keep Bruno further up field where he can create more easily and be more dangerous. There would have been a big drop off defensively moving from Ugarte to Mount but 1) who cares 2) at that point chaos ball is probably your best chance of creating a chance of your own even if it means allowing some chances and 3) Heaven can help mitigate a bit because he can cover more ground and wasn't on a yellow.

You have to keep a little shape. The answer isn't to throw a fit and put a bunch of attackers on. We didn't have a midfielder to put on that helps defensively, and we only had 1 cb on. You can't have 1 cb and Casemiro centrally defensively.

BTW…. You guys won't like it, but… Ugarte had by far the best day of anyone defensively (which everyone else in the back four and double pivot had at least one huge mistake). 11 defensive contributions and 7 directly in front of goal inside the box. It could have been a lot worse.

I'm still selling, but… Ugarte was not the problem today.

I mean, actually, if we were going to do what you guys want and put Mount in for one of the midfielders in the double pivot, maybe Casemiro since his mobility is limited. But he's good in the air, and let's not forget that he's the one that actually did get the goal.

And you then have about 5 guys (Sesko, Cunha, Mbeumo, Bruno, and Mount) on that really want to be in the middle third of the pitch attacking, which seems like just a traffic jam for the sake of saying you are trying without actually accomplishing anything to me. And you are F'ed if they get the ball and get two players centrally ahead of that traffic jam.

Maguire ban extended so he will miss Chelsea game. PGMOL and the FA won't stand for teams or players questioning their awful officiating.

I don't know how offended to be since I don't know what he said. His body language wasn't very over the top.

If we lose this weekend - very offended 9/10

If we tie - moderately offended 6/10

If we win - punishment was deserved he was a very naughty boy 2/10
